Re: "Jason Campbell struggles against the Steelers"
I absolutely love how some people are just freakin the F out over just a handful of plays. I guess there are a few fans who are writing the season off already based on less than a full quarter from the starters. I for one will withhold my judgement of Jason and the rest of the team until after a few games that actually matter.

Re: "Jason Campbell struggles against the Steelers"
...whatever the redskins front office were feeling about him in trying to get another qb to replace him, campbell's so far proving their feelings to be correct.

Re: "Jason Campbell struggles against the Steelers"
so i guess it's just preseason, so it doesn't matter that Campbell is still struggling even though he has a decent line and protection in front of him. It's just preseason and the wins and loses don't matter, but the performances still do.
Yes, that is absolutely my feeling. I couldn't care less what he's doing right now because you play preseason games to work on different things. They're glorified practices. If this carries over into the season I'll start to doubt him. I'm prepared for whatever happens at this point. I want him to succeed and it's got little to do with Jason. I like him because if he is good, that will mean the Skins found their QB for several years (not one or two like Collins or a pipe dream like Colt/Chase (I loved both of them in college, btw, no bias against them)). I do think it's unfair the revolving door of coaches and systems he's been in, but the bottom line he has to prove he can play this season or he's gone and I've accepted that. That said, I don't know that he was dealt a fair hand here, but that doesn't mean he should get a 2nd contract. Finally, I'm confident he will prove that he can get it done this season, but I don't have a crystal ball and I don't know. |

Has he throw INTs? Maybe held the ball too long and taken a few sacks? Please, enlighten me as to how JC has struggled so bad in such a short period of time because I fail to see it. You must know something that I don't.

Re: "Jason Campbell struggles against the Steelers"
On the contrary, he's had more than just these 13 passes to analyze. These 13 passes were just an opportunity for him to prove the judgments on him were wrong (that were made before the preseason began).
You can't prove anything to anyone with only 13 passes. More are required. |

I think it's obvious. He's had what - 5 series. Not enough to predict an entire season for him, but enough to try to disprove all of the lack of confidence that his own personnel people have. It's his job to prove people wrong and so far not a job so far. |
Re: "Jason Campbell struggles against the Steelers"
throw in Trent Edwards and SF starter and the others I named and that's the company Campbell is in.

Re: "Jason Campbell struggles against the Steelers"
... just imagine brady for instance having a dismal showing like this in his first preseason games back. There would some worries that he might not perform like he used to. Those worries are there for me with campbell, but with campbell - he hasn't performed at a high enough level to even give him the benefit of doubt yet.

Sanchez/Clemens from NYJ, Quinn/Anderson for Cleveland, Edwards in Buff are all worse tha JC. I could keep going but I just dont wanna. There is no way in hell Campbell is that far down the list. Maybe middle of the pack but certainly not bottom 5.

3 points in 2 games. QB rating in the 40's. overthrew Moss,Hagans. underthrew Kelly ball hit Troy P in the hands, close to a int. If JC wants to prove the FO and the non JC supporters wrong, this isnt the way to do it. He better get off his arse this week or it could get ugly. |
Re: "Jason Campbell struggles against the Steelers"
agreed bottom 5 couldve been harsh, but its not much better than that.

Its not obvious or I would see it too.
