Some recent news on Landry from the Washington Times via Rotoworld suggests that Landry needs Achilles' tendon surgery but opted for rest instead. Story also says the Redskins were not happy with the decision. Re: 2012 redskins
why is he so adverse to the surgery it will get his career on track. He must be using this to insure his release.

He's either not serious about pro football and/or really afraid of surgery. Amazingly, both being true wouldn't surprise me as Landry's IQ never made it to the triple digits. |

He is probably looking at former Redskins secondary that get to the playoffs after they leave the Skins and is saying "That could be me!" |
Re: 2012 redskins
I'm guessing he's just not a fan of surgery, and a doctor must have told him he can rehab it without going under the knife.
Surgery isn't always necessary... just sayin'. |
Re: 2012 redskins
Who do you think will be the starting RB next season? I like Helu, humble and gives the chance for a big play.

Unless we draft Trent Richardson, Helu will |

He's probably one of the ones Carlos mentions: San Francisco 49ers cornerback Carlos Rogers is one win away from the Super Bowl — and seemingly ages removed from an up-and-down stint in Washington. Rogers, whose 49ers face the New York Giants in Sunday’s NFC championship game, told The Post’s Barry Svrluga that he’s happy to be free of the day-to-day drama that defined his tenure with the Redskins. “People say I wasn’t happy,” Rogers said. “It’s just because I spoke out. But it was the truth. It was the truth. And I’m gone. So what is it now? It’s still stuff going on. I know the guys on the team, so many guys is ready to leave. So many guys.” |
Re: 2012 redskins
Carlos Rogers should become a hockey fan and then learn how to "capgeek himself" properly before throwing a hissy fit about money. Champ wasn't happy here either, but we were able to make a blockbuster trade before he would have walked.

Re: 2012 redskins
I have heard 3 interviews from Carlos Rogers, and have read alot more of his comments. That idiot has to be the most moronic, uneducated retard that I have ever heard speak or try to utter a complete sentence. Hilarious listening to him speak. Guys a GENIUS!!!!

They have been struggling for so long there is general apathy as the season progresses, you can see it in the play. I would love to see a house clearing of many of the vets, but that won't happen. |

There aren't many left. Moss, Landry, McIntosh and some will be gone next season. |

I think only 15 people still remain from the team that Shanahan inherited. More are sure to be cut or let walk this off-season. |

McIntosh probably at the top of the list labeled "will not return in 2012." Near the end of one late season game, Doc Walker reported from the sideline that McIntosh was done as a Redskin. Beginning to look like Landry may not be far behind him as he exits Redskin Park. On the other hand, I think Moss will return for another season! |
Re: 2012 redskins
I see Landry staying with the team next year. Haslett will talk him into it.

Prior to the past 2 seasons, Landry was pretty solid health wise. His game changing ability is well worth the risk. |

Better yet, when was there one time he changed the game? Anyone?

That's the problem. Have the surgery and come back 100%. |

And Shanahan confirms today that Landry has decided not to have surgery
|
Re: 2012 redskins
What about the green bay game.
Nobody remembers his pick in OT against Green Bay? I know we all want to dispute any impact he's had for us lately, but come on. Also I completely disagree with his decision not to have surgery. You go the "newfangled off-the-wall" treatment route after you have surgery and it fails to correct it, not when you need surgery but want to do everything possible except get the surgery. If he's injured again this season I'm going to really not concern myself with whether or not we release him. Maybe he's one of the Redskins CR was talking about when he said he knows "many" players who want to leave this team. |

One step closer to the door for Laron. We saw how well rest and no surgery worked for him last offseason. |
Re: 2012 redskins
Sign and trade his ass.
|
Landry is no value to other teams he's a bad coverage guy and now he's injury prone
|

that is not true. he is one of the top 3 strong safeties in the league. |

He also needs to get surgery if he wants to play at a high level. |

OMG, please don't start siting stats, just go watch his play for the last few years... out of position, hardly makes the play, he's a better SS vs FS. |
