Agreed. |
Re: Coronavirus (sports edition) thread
Sorry if this has been asked before but do the players lose their paycheck for any games missed due to COVID?
I know a forfeited game results in loss of game day check for the teams involved. Is that still the case for individuals if the rest of the team plays? |
Re: Coronavirus (sports edition) thread
If, as the CDC is starting to say, vaccinated people with the delta variant can carry the same viral load as unvaccinated, shouldn't all players at least be tested daily?

Yeah personal choice, I'm not saying force the vaccine on them, that'd be horrible (and maybe even unconstitutional ?)... but as a fan of the team, I would be really disappointed if some starters miss regular season games because they didn't get the shot... Like, we Washington fans know how hard it is to keep a team healthy and available, so missed games due to covid rules on top of that would be a real bummer IMO. |

We might be losing games but we'll be winning in the personal freedom column. |

But I can still have an opinion on the matter. And if we lose starters during the regular season, my opinion will be that it's one of the lamest reason to lose starters. The thing is my stand on the vaccine isn't very strong, I'm not all out "everybody should get vaccinated no questions asked", I have close family members who don't want to get vaccinated and I don't even discuss it with them, cuz I didn't look into it that much and have neither a strong opinion nor a lot of arguments. All I know is with the NFL rules, which are not perfect, a lot of players not being vaccinated could lead to lost games. Not saying anybody should be forced to have the shot. But I'm gonna be disappointed if my team loses games that way, and if we're being honest we all will, won't we ? Nobody is gonna be glad if Chase, Scherff and Terry are out on Covid list during the season... Envoyé de mon SHV48 en utilisant Tapatalk |
Re: Coronavirus (sports edition) thread
Never thought I'd see the day when Americans would value winning NFL football games over personal freedoms. I don't know if this is the twilight zone, but it is a bit scary nonetheless.

football > personal freedom Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
Are we not here because we're all diehards of our favorite team? I'm just saying - don't wanna hear no shit about losing games because personal freedom is obviously more important than winning games. Let me get you a head start on lines you can say. "Well, we lost the game - but we're winning the war on government control of our freedom!" "I'm happy to take this L knowing Montez Sweat wasn't forced to take some experimental non-approved drug like this is Nazi Germany or something." "Over 2 billion idiots fell for this "vaccine is safe" nonsense but I'm glad to know the guys on our team weren't falling for it too." "I'd rather go 0-16 than have a team full of sheep." Help yourself Cred. |

football > personal freedom Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
I'd be saying that if I was saying "vaccine should be mandatory" or "Ron should cut anyone not vaccinated"... but I never said that. I just said I wished they'd do it... They're allowed to make personal choices and I'm allowed to have an opinion about it. Like, if you wish a lot of people vote for the same candidate as you as the next election, it doesn't mean you're against democracy and free elections... |
Re: Coronavirus (sports edition) thread
Anybody know why the FDA takes so long to put a stamp on this ?

It usually takes about a decade to approve a vaccine or new drug. This has actually been very fast. Which is why a lot of people think too fast and not safe. |
