Re: 3/18 @4pm NFL Free Agency & Trading Period
Personally I can’t wait to see Chase wearing the burgundy and gold. He’s going to scare QB, especially after he gets a few sacks and then Sweat improves on the other side.

Just as important as striking fear into opposing QBs, he will rent space in the brains of offensive coordinators. They'll have to plan around him from Week 1. Having a guy that can actually impact the offense's game plan is something we haven't had since Sean Taylor.

1993 Richie Petitbon
W-L record:164-108 Playoff Record: 16-5 But Gregg Williams defense ranked third in the NFL in 2004 and ninth in 2005. Not bad |

6 more days until we sign Austin Hooper.

We're going to have competition. You can expect the Pats to be heavily in pursuit of a TE. It's good to be Hooper right about now. He's going to get overpaid. |
Re: 3/18 @4pm NFL Free Agency & Trading Period
The nature of free agency is you pay a premium for the top guys. In two years Hooper's deal will look much different. The guy is 25, durable, and productive. I'd make a hard push for him. The next 5 years are his prime years.

Re: 3/18 @4pm NFL Free Agency & Trading Period
Im getting the feeling the cap is going to go up exponentially (and keep going up) and we, mentally, are still thinking 2018 price values when its a new age.
Perhaps 35M for a top tier QB is normal, 20M for top tier LT, 20M for top tier CB ... I mean, top tier Gs are getting 15M .. Hooper, who isnt a top tier TE but is young and hitting the market at the right time, may get 13 to even 15M. I think what ever you think is the going market rate, add 20% to it bc thats what agents are thinking. Hell .. we have like 60 plus M in cap space and could have over 80 if we unload TW and RK. Some teams have an insane amount of unspent cap. |

Exactly. Pay the man. We need a 3 down TE. Have needed one for years. He is in his prime and the cap is going up. Pay that man!!! |
