Interesting you and I agree on something, as we hardly ever do. Given your agreement on Blackmon, what QB would you target in the 2nd round (if thats what we do) or would you target a FA if the price was decent.

Or with the possible available FA WR, would you go after one of them aggressively and move up to get one of the QB's.
How about Flynn in free agency and Blackmon with #6? Hell, I like what someone else said about getting both Flynn AND RGIII. If they both pan out, great! We'll have a player that could garner multiple first round picks one day.

I could see us trading back up to grab Tannehill late in the 1st based on what SS has said.

Of the available FA WRs honestly none of them thrill me. Bowe talent wise is probably the big catch but I'm not really a huge fan of his.
Justin Blackmon looked like a young Terrell Owens out there last night. I'm not one for taking wr's early in the draft, but that guy looked like a man among boys last night. Wow!
he has all season and did last year as I've said on here he's a monster and a cant miss wr. If u think dez has talent just watch JB plus he's a team guy
Call me crazy, but I think we stand at #6, and we get RG3.

The Browns do still have McCoy, and if they let Hillis walk, I think they'll be more concerned about upgrading WR or RB.
Plus you never know how his combine performance will affect his draft position. He could easily slide a little.
To me...this. The failures of that team come down to this...they went in the total tank once Manning was out. Any team built in such a manner is a house of cards. They should be shot for letting the team become so talent-poor. The perils of having a stud QB I guess...you have to pay them and it kills your talent unless you are particularly good a drafting young cheap talent to cycle in.
I don't think the Colts are as talent limited as they seemed early this year.
Curtis Painter is not a good QB by any stretch.
He's probably the worst QB in the NFL.
When Dan Orlovosky sparks an uptick in performance its a telling indictment on the previous QB.

Also, their defense was terrible and a portion of that blame goes to the coaching.

I still beleive Luck is in play and the Colts are listening to folks. Some team is going to break the bank on that pick.

Yeah I agree with Tannehill. He has played well all season, like his arm and ability to make all of the throws a NFL QB is required to throw. Played in a big time conference with major competition. I like the possibilty of Blackmon and Tannehill, or if Blackmon is gone...Alshon Jeffries from S. Car. He is a stud as well, just not the speed of Blackmon. Alshon is probably more realistic with the 6th pick. Carolina to me will probably take him or St Louis.

I dont see how Carolina can pass on him. With Newton those two could be a tandem for years. Plus Steve Smith has lobbied for years to get a #1 WR, that he'd be happy as a #2. (hard to believe)
Blackmon is a stud. If he fell to us at #6 I'd have no problem with taking him.
The only problem I'd have with taking him is that it would mean that we once again are settling at the QB position. For me, anything less than Luck or RGIII out of this draft will be a huge disappointment.

Seems that the word is they are very high on Tannehill to begin with, so it really wouldn't be settling if they were getting their guy in the end.

Moving up to grab Luck or RGIII is going to be costly, and what if Cleveland is fine with sitting there and taking RGIII? I'm not even really thinking about Luck. Just doesn't seem possible.

Everyone keeps talking about drafting Blackmon, falling to #6. I'm all for drafting the guy but with his skill set and team centered mentality, I just don't see him falling to #6. I think St. Louis would be remiss not to take him at #2. I just don't see it happening as much as I would like it.

Neither guy is going to be there by the time we pick.

We've heard "the word is they are very high on..." before.

In terms of settling, I'm referring to someone who is on the 2nd tier of QB prospects. Luck and RGIII are considered elite prospects. Tannehill, Jones and Foles are all considered next tier or below. To me, that just signals 'same old-same old' following the pattern we've been in at that position for 20+ years. I won't go as far as to say I don't care about the cost to move up, but I'm close to that. I know the Giants don't regret the cost to get Eli, we will be looking at a similar price to get to the Rams pick at #2. Luck is in play as long as Peyton remains on the Colts roster because he will force a trade rather than sit.

Newsflash...their defense has always been very talent-poor. Due to the stud ends who kept them competitive and the fact that teams had to play from behind so much they were able to hide the fact that their defense was mostly junk for the last decade.
