Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
There's really only one way this thing is going to end, now. The Skins HAVE to move up and get Sanchez and unload Jason. They've gone too damn far with this...it's probably been mismanaged worse that the Broncos trying to trade Cutler, it just so happens that Campbell is not a pussy. He's tried to do and say all the right things about being a Redskin and they've basically lied to him all offseason. I understand it's a business, but damn, show him a little bit of respect.
Dan could have spent the offseason doing some root cause analysis on what went wrong down the stretch, or you could something reactionary like try to acquire another quarterback. Most good front offices would have done the former...shocker that Dan Snyder and Vinny Cerratto decided to do the latter.
Couldn't agree more, there will be no damage control part II. Danny and Vinny really ****ed this up, I would love to see Campbell demand a trade right after Sanchez is picked by someone else and the Skins have to either trade him or risk him sitting out the season. |

Good call! Free nameplate replacement with purchase of a Danny Boy bobblehead? |

Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
Anyone think that the Saunders offense limited Campbell's progression? You think maybe that made him go through progressions and reads worse, since he had to be so focused on where to put the ball?
He needs to be in a dropback like mentioned, put him in Pittsburgh and he'd be another Roethlisberger, good enough to get it done.. funny how it was just last season it was being said he'll be getting a Roethlisberger-type deal prob |

I think that it was less the Saunders offense and more the revolving door of offensive coordinators. When football becomes think instead of react, especially for a QB, you're pretty much dead. I remember last year, during a broadcast, the announcer was saying that Jason has to think about where his checkdowns are going to be...that's not good. Most great players stay in one system for a long time and learn it inside and out. Steve Young, who's in the Hall of Fame (Wedding Crashers quote), said that it takes 3-4 years to learn the WCO and people want to dump JC after one? If they do this, the front office had better make damn sure they find a "franchise QB" who's going to be here for a while in order to learn an offense and become comfortable. Otherwise, we'll be talking about dumping Sanchez in 4 years and the next big thing at Q. |

I don't think he's exactly gotten a fair shake by any means, but I think that he's not as well liked as others for other reasons as well. Kinda like when Giants told Eli he needs to be the physical and vocal leader; guys rally around Campbell in interviews but man that emotionless stare he has is probably wearing itself on the FO. But yeah, we're definitely impatient. |

Whatever the case, I want to see a "Quarterback of the Future" actually get a future with the Washington Redskins at some point. Hell, if a guy isn't Peyton Manning here in his first 2 years, he's not going to survive. I don't know what to do about that, though. |

I honestly think it's gotten to the point lots of fans, especially those of us who take the time to become at least a little more informed/knowledgeable as Warpathers, are now more patient than our owner/FO. Think about it. The most knowledgeable contributors (I'm not one but i pay close attention to their posts) are encouraged by JC's progress in the WCO, and they're realistic enough to acknowledge the sad state of things surrounding Jason. Well again our ownership/FO somehow misses all this...i mean what is most appalling to me is the absence of a clear and concise statement by anyone at Redskins Park acknowledging the utter collapse of the o-line in the 2nd half of last season, especially in terms of protecting Jason. |
Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
You've gotta hate your life if you work for the Redskins organization, unless your name is Vinny Cerrato.. or you're a player, well some of them

The problem is that the most knowledgeable portion of the fan base is rarely heard and often shouted down by people who see a dropoff in production and assume he'll never get better. The majority of our fanbase is not like Gtripp. Most of the people I know want Campbell gone or Colt to start. |
Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
It's a huge grasp to say that Sanchez is even going to be available.

Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
Well if JC said he will seek a trade if we bring in another QB??? Dont let the door hit you in the as s on the way out big fella.....
No Sanchez trade? - Redskins 360 - Washington Times -- Coach Jim Zorn talked about evaluating quarterbacks on accuracy, what former Maryland coach Bobby Ross called "evadeability." tenacity and leadership. Zorn also said the Redskins will definitely add a quarterback this weekend, whether through the draft or as a undrafted free agent. |
Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
How would people feel if we make a steal and draft Jason Campbell for a first rounder? Scenario: Jets miss out on Sanchez, panic when they look at their QB roster, and make a trade. I know this is completely in la-la land, but what if?

And if they do what people say, and get sanchez/trade JC, that still only leaves 3. I think VC is absolutely comfortable lying to get what he needs, Zorn seems to need to always have some nugget of truth, and that makes his statements now when he has to be deceptive almost comical. |
