its not that its just balanced, but the playcalls themselves, the direct snap to portis, the throw to ARE on 4th and 2,etc
True. Though I don't think any of us have really argued much this year about the first half, it's what will they do with a 14 point lead in the second half.

I like the conservative unpredictability.

So...you think we open the second half with an onsides kick? :)

on that replay of the throw to ARE you can see him pull up at the end because of his hamstring, and it seems like hamstrings take forever to heal

Now, who can tell us why Detroit should not have used their timeouts there?

we have some difficulty recovering fumbles...
SUrprised the lions haven't gone to the run sooner. We are playing to stop the pass.
Well, thats cause their running game is downright awful.

This is what I've been preaching all week. A 14 point lead at half was not safe against Eli and Co because they had been moving the ball on us all half, just hadnt gotten any points. Detroit has been so futile in this game that I would argue that a 14 point lead is safe.

I think the offense is going to pile on some more in the 4th quarter, but its obvious who the best team is in this game.

Actually it was obvious before today, but in case you needed some visual evidence...that was it.

We're going to need another bye week to get healthy.

Let's come out of the locker room aggresively, keep attacking the middle of the field and get at least 2 more TD. NO FG!!

Man we are just dominating, We've held detroit to under 80 yards in the half!

still overall an impressive first half for us on both sides of the ball... i didn't like our last O series though... i would have been happier going for the throat and trying to put up another 7 points

Anyway, thats the answer to why it was stupid for Detriot to burn their final two timeouts. Because 15 seconds left on the clock for your offense if you are succesful is a stupid thing to strive for when the cost of failure is a minute for the Redskins to throw for 40 yards with two timeouts.

If they had 3 TO's it would have been different, but they couldn't stop the clock on third, so it ended up just being stupid. They are lucky it didn't cost them 3 more points.

I DO NOT like the playcalling with 1:20 left before halftime.
We'd been moving the ball well, Campbell was on target, Detroit wasn't stopping us in the passing game, and Gibbs sits on it with plenty of time left.

Outrageous.

Do you think the Cowboys, Colts or Patriots would be comfortable with a 14 point lead with that much time still available? HELL NO. They'd be striking down the field trying to get another score.

That's exactly the kind of complacency that separates the winners from the losers.
