Can you say Cam Cameron? That's why.
I don't know about Cam Cameron as a head coach but I sure would've looked at him as coordinator cause he's a proven guy. He is miles ahead of Zorn. But I'm not sure he could do much with this offense cause I just don't think we've got the players. |

We have the players we just don't have a team big difference there |

My opinion...if you want to be dominate in the league you need to win the battle at the line of scrimmage. To do that you need a solid line on the defense and offense. We won't miraculously have that out of nowhere. If there is any improvement it won't be considerable enough to turn this season around...just my opinion of course. |

Yesterday we got killed on the lines. If that axiom was 100% true, we'd be 2-1 and wondering what happened yesterday. But we have problems elsewhere, and that has caused us to be 1-2 and searching for answers. |

Yep your totally right 99, 05,07 we totally missed the playoffs and oh man that 99 season we totally lost our shot at the conference championship in When we lost to frisco... yes im being sarcastic unless you mean we will never have another 14-2 season?? |

Also Eli Manning was hardly pressured in that game. My opinion is that we weren't successful in having the edge on the lines in that game. |
Re: Now What??
O' man that is embarrassing...And it only get's tougher with the Buc's who are 0-3.....What has happened to our Class Organization!
We need for Jack Kent Cooke to resurrect from the dead! The Old man was a winner! We've got a looser for an owner, who thinks he knows football. This guy has cursed to organization, for as much as he's wanted to help, he has really brought us down to the dust of the earth. Lord, we need some divine intervention, please help us! We need a Miracle!
JKC didn't know football either. His brilliance as an owner was to hire Bobby Beathard as GM, who in turn hired Gibbs as HC, and the old man stayed out of their way and let them do their jobs. With Snyder, everything has to be a big splash in the offseason. I truly believe that he gets more excited shmoozing free agents on Redskin One than he does winning regular season games. For Danny, it's all about bringing in big names to market the team, sell the jerseys, etc. If he cared so much about winning, he would admit that his methods have not worked for 10 years, and change the FO structure for the better. |

I tend to agree, however, Campbell needs to go and we need a REAL #1 WR, and by this time next year we need fresh young legs at RB. Other than that, I agree. |
Re: Now What??
Ok, this is what I would do, see if Holmgren will come in as consultant to assist Zorn. If he won't we are screwed. If he does then lets see what changes. Maybe we have a chance to salvage something.
Then at the end of the yr evaluate the situation, If nothing has changed and we have a losing yr then contact Marty Schottenheimer and bring him in as GM. Move Cerrato to handling only the contract/business side of things. Let Marty have control of player personell and assist with scouting. Bring in Brian Schottenheimer as HC (since he has done so well with the Jets) and give him the opportunity to bring in his own coach's. Since we already have AH and he used to be in a 3-4 make the only suggestion that whoever Brian brings in we are looking to change to a 3-4 style of defense. I agree that Brian Schottenheimer will be a head coach soon, maybe after this year. But Holmgren would never come here mid-season as a "consultant" and make changes, and we wouldn't do it either. Might as well just fire Zorn and Cerrato, b/c bringing Holmgren here and giving him power to makes changes right away totally undermines them. And then you want to bring Marty in right away if Holmgren can't right the ship after taking over mid-season? Huh? |
Re: Now What??
^Well we are not mid season yet. We are only 3 games into it. This gives Holmgren a couple of games to evaluate talent and try to assist and a couple of games to try to adjust things prior to the break. Then he has two weeks to finalize adjustments.
Zorn is a product of Holmgren. Holmgren should understand what he's thinking and how to help him even in the play calls. You do make a good point though, Holmgren is going to want a real job like GM or something. He will have some sort of clause in his contract about letting him go early as well I would presume. I just don't see cutting a HC at the beginning of the season as good business. Whoever comes in is at a serious disadvantage until the team learns his system or play calls. Maybe we just ride this broken rollercoaster and hope we get a pick near the top in order to pick a decent QB. Ya know, for Schottenheimer. ;) |
Re: Now What??
Bring back Marty and Brian!!
Seriously, I'd love for either B Schott or Kyle Shanahan to be our "star young head coach of the future" Speaking of the Texans, I'd keep an eye on what happens with Kubiak this off-season |

Re: Now What??
Hey if Marty and Brian can get us to 14-2 wining seasons I'd be happy. Then maybe Brian could help push the team over the hump and win a SB ;)

Re: Now What??
I think Sherman Smith made some interesting comments in video on Redskins.com.
Tell me what you guys think... |
Re: Now What??
If we are going to bring someone back, I think it should be Charlie Casserly.
Give me Casserly as GM and President and any talented coach and I will be happy. If I had to predict what snyder is going to do, I think he will replace Cerrato with Bruce Allen and Hire Herm Edwards as HC. |

Sure, but I really doubt it will happen. Eight years ago, Snyder wanted Marty to only coach and Marty wanted to be coach and general manager. Now Marty is more interested in only being the general manager, but I don't know that Snyder wants him to do that. I think he prefers him as a head coach. So it's certainly possible, but I don't necessarily see it happening. Too many rumors and names going around right now to really know for sure what's happening |

Depending on how this year goes do you really think Snyder would be ready to hand over the keys to a GM not named Vinny and step completely out of the way? |
Re: Now What??
Since nothing else has worked for Dan Snyder, he'll probably think it over and decide that the only course of action left for him is to appoint himself as GM and Head Coach.
After all, shouldn't the smartest person in the organization be in charge of all football matters? Besides, by appointing himself GM and HC, Snyder would surely one-up that egomaniac Jerry Jones. Sure, Jones made himself the GM of the Cowboys and he has a fancy new stadium but he's not the nominal Head Coach of the Cowboys, is he? When Danny names himself Head Coach and GM, just like other legendary owners such as Paul Brown and George Halas did before him, it will not only put that arrogant bastard Jerry Jones in his place but it will be the one sure way to turn the Redskins' on-field fortunes around. I'd like to be the first to congratulate soon-to-be legendary NFL owner Dan Snyder on his upcoming brilliant solution to all of the Redskins' problems. |
Re: Now What??
We as fans should start boycotting everything Dan Snyder does. That is the only way for him to learn his lesson. Problem is we are too loyal and too naive to do such a thing.
Marty as GM is an interesting thought.
Depending on how this year goes do you really think Snyder would be ready to hand over the keys to a GM not named Vinny and step completely out of the way?
Well it was rumored before last season that in 2-3 years Cerrato was going to move to a non-football position and either Morocco Brown or Scott Campbell-most likely Brown-was going to get bumped up to overseeing football decisions. Snyder will always be involved, no matter who he brings in. That's not going to change. But his level of involvement is something that will always be scrutinized and overplayed. Right now, I don't believe either Gruden or Holmgren are likely candidates. I thought Cowher was the favorite, but Carolina might make too much sense for him. The name most frequently being mentioned around here is Shanahan. I've been pretty certain that Shanahan is going to Dallas, but I've been told Holmgren might actually be a more likely candidate there because Holmgren supposedly is ok with just coaching and letting Jerrah continue as the General Manager. If Shanahan does come here, then it's pretty much a lock that Kyle Shanahan will be at least our Assistant Head Coach. I don't like Shanahan (Mike) as a General Manager so I'm hoping that doesn't happen. |
