Re: Media Bias
^ Oops. Won't blame CNN but it does make them look foolish. Wonder how Clarissa Ward feels about being duped and helping a likely war criminal to evade capture.

https://news.yahoo.com/news/washington-post-cartoonist-ann-telnaes-021330404.html The Wrap Washington Post Cartoonist Ann Telnaes Quits After Bezos-Owned Paper Kills Trump Satire Piece Tess Patton Fri, January 3, 2025 at 9:13 PM EST·2 min read 3.8k Washington Post editorial cartoonist Ann Telnaes quit after a satirical cartoon, which poked fun at the paper’s owner Jeff Bezos and other media and tech giants bending the knee to President-elect Donald Trump, was killed. The Pulitzer Prize winner shared her decision in a Substack post Friday. “I have had editorial feedback and productive conversations—and some differences—about cartoons I have submitted for publication, but in all that time I’ve never had a cartoon killed because of who or what I chose to aim my pen at. Until now,” she said. Telnaes had worked at the Washington Post since 2008. She described the political cartoon that did not get published, saying it “criticizes the billionaire tech and media chief executives who have been doing their best to curry favor with incoming President-elect Trump.” |

Re: Media Bias
“Fact checkers have been too politically biased and have destroyed more trust than they’ve created,” Zuckerberg said in a video announcing the new policy Tuesday. “What started as a movement to be more inclusive has increasingly been used to shut down opinions and shut out people with different ideas, and it’s gone too far.”
Mark Zuckerbergs announcement is a remarkable in that it has so many quiet parts out loud: he says the election is a cultural tipping point for free speech, that the “legacy media” is the driver of censorship, and that “immigration and gender” topics will no longer be censored Nature is healing…first X/Twitter and now Facebook/Instagram. Free Speech is always the right choice |
Re: Media Bias
Fact checking is wrong??? JHC!

The right hates this one simple trick… facts

Re: Media Bias
Unfortunately if the fact checkers weren’t politically bias they would stay on but like Zuck said, they have done more damage to online culture than to help.
Listen I’d like to have a neutral body but sources like Wikipedia, Snopes, Newsguard and PolitiFact are all liberally funded or have democrats sitting as director or in the case of Wikipedia have Soros funded partners on multiple positions on their board. |
Re: Media Bias
Dana White added to their board of directors? Trump once called FB the enemy of the people.
Let’s not pretend this has anything to do with free speech. |

Jeff Bezos’ ‘Washington Post’ Gives Up Promoting Journalism and Fires PRs The Washington Post laid off nearly its entire public relations department in its sweeping layoffs on Tuesday as it moves away from promoting the paper’s journalism. The Post laid off six staffers from the company’s public relations department, leaving it with four managers. Kathleen Floyd, a senior publicist at the Post and co-chair of its union, said she and team were told the paper was “no longer promoting the journalism” and would focus “entirely on talent promotion” during a Zoom call on Tuesday morning. “It’s almost unconscionable that the decision of our leadership would lead to an impact on us,” she said. “It’s not the day-to-day employees’ fault the we lost more than 250,000 subscribers.” Kathy Baird, the Post‘s chief communications officer, confirmed in a memo to staffers the paper “will stop the dedicated practice of publicity for our journalism across broadcast and traditional media outlets” in service of a new “Star Talent Unit.” |

Re: Media Bias
if DeSantis didn’t have water in the fire hydrants to fight fires around Miami that would be the lead nightly news story on CBS, NBC and ABC with top lines in NYT and Washington Post….as well as the GOP mayor out of town where the fires burned down the city.
Quotes from Democratic leadership yesterday: Karen Bass - If you need help, go to URL Gavin Newsom - Hey locals need to figure all of this out. Joe Biden - The good news in all of this is I'm a great grandfather. Reminder Newsome has had a supermajority liberals his entire time Anderson Cooper and David Muir reported in LA within a day, couldn’t be bothered to go to Western Carolina after the hurricane which cost 10x times the lives |
