But nothing on Bobby Scott on either cnn or msn? Strange how sexual harassment has been the biggest story over the last two months, but limited coverage for these two? Doesn’t add up....certainly biased media based on political affiliation. If these were republicans, front page no doubt. |
Re: Media Bias
I don't need to check Fox News, but I bet something on their front page is about some liberal politician harassment scandal.
It goes both ways Chico. When's the last time you saw coverage of innocent Muslims being killed on Fox News? How about that pro-Trump school kid from the SW killing his classmates? You already know what their focus is going to be on. You sit here acting like we should be getting outraged on it. If you don't like what their focus is, don't click. You click, the cycle continues. Quit being bated. |

When you take score, trump has come out relatively strong his first year...but his successes certainly have been underreported
On policy and agenda I agree. Unfortunately his negatives are just as strong when you are talking about his public persona, and hyperbole about his own greatness. These points need to be addressed by him and his staff if his presidency is to turn into an overall positive. I doubt they will be though. |

Interesting that at least per Rasmussen Trumps favorable/unfavorable matches Obama's at the end of his first year. 46/53.

Well yeah Obama took over when the economy was in the tank so.... That also seems a little generous for Trump, it’s a very conservative leaning poll, but of course Trump pimps the results of that one while dismissing any other ones as “fake” |

Rasmussen relies heavily on landline calls for polling so their cross-reference of a community tends to be just what old people think. Election results I suppose are the only true indicator. |

That's interesting. I have always looked at Rasmussen as fairly reliable. Matty, I just found it interesting. Even in the Rasmussen poll the hate factor is incredibly high at 44% who strongly disapprove. So clearly the 46/53 isn't an amazing big time best ever poll - though once it hits Fox's headlines I am sure Trump will trumpet it and CNN will poo poo it. |

They were most accurate among major pollsters with the 2016 election.
Yes, they were the most accurate for the Trump win, predicting Hillary winning by 2%. I imagine since they exclude cell phones with their methodology, anytime a Republican wins they will be more accurate than not. They were near the least accurate for every other election (somewhat of a guess) If you dont think Rasmussen leans republican with their way of doing polling, I have to assume you also think Fox News is fair and balanced. Re: Media Bias
Donald J. Trump
Verified account @realDonaldTrump 15h15 hours ago More In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year’s Eve on record. Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up! --------------- LOL it makes me cringe every time winter comes and conservatives use cold weather as exhibit A on why climate change is not real. Record breaking weather is Exhibit A that climate change is real. "COLDEST New Year's Eve on record" ... is just another record that is being set. The stupidity of Trumps post is mind boggling. "Last month also marked the hottest ever for August, which was also the 16th straight month to set a global heat record, according to Sánchez-Lugo. The last time the Earth had a cooler-than-average month was December 1984, Sánchez-Lugo said. The "average" in this case is the average 20th-century temperature. The first eight months of the year were also record warm, putting 2016 on track to be the warmest year on record." (I think there is media bias on both sides ...)
Well ur point was to simply dismiss the poll bc it actually is supportive of the trump presidency and since day one of the trump presidency there has been been a well documented effort by the media not only to discredit the president but to spread false narrative that no one in the country is behind the president and there generally no positive support for this president. The Rasmussen poll was the most accurate period. So what you should questioning is why were the others generally off and some way off when it comes to historic polling. ??? When you speak of a biased, inaccurate, false poll....BUT SUPPORTS a narrative you want and THE MEDIA wants...then you can see how it is easier to see the spread of misinformation. |
Re: Media Bias
Chico .. my point was that Rasmussen uses landlines, which means they tend to poll older people which tend to vote republican. Fox news spins right, CNN spins left. I accept both for what they are.
Sounds like you think Rasmussen and Fox News are on point, thats your call. |
Re: Media Bias
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that this will shock no one that I hold this view, but Climate Change is one the Democratic Party's greatest inventions. It is the equivalent of Religion to the right.
(RELIGION: You can't disprove it because FAITH, the effects are far off enough to be minimally impactful now, BUT if we don't fix it, the rapture/apocalypse will occur and we will be doomed - DOOOMED I TELL YOU. Because FAITH.) Climate Change: You can't disprove it because SCIENCE, the effects are far off enough to be minimally impactful now, BUT if we don't fix it, the global tipping point will occur and we will be doomed - DOOOMED I TELL YOU. Because SCIENCE. And, no I'm not denying an amount of climate change occurs, both naturally, and man-made, anymore than I am saying faith is wrong. I DO disagree with the doomsday prophecies of a slow occurring natural event over the pace of tech advancements. Not to mention we might be better off if the west and east coasts of the US moved inland about 20 miles (LA downtown is about 16 miles from the ocean). :smashfreak: |

we don't, and I guess this thread has really kind of run it's course. Fact is, CNN, WP, NYT used to be touted as the gold standard of journalism, but it seems everyone acknowledges that at this point every media outlet has a preferred bias and since we know that we can account for it. I just don't think the "gold standard" guys acknowledge it. |

Based on this past election where a majority were wayyyy off and the continuing approval ratings numbers given today...it’s fake news at this point. Can’t be trusted as a source for reliable information. It’s simple |
