Dan Snyder. :D

Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
If it doesn't count towards a salary cap then I'd take him for whatever he wants.
|
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
If there's a year without a cap, we still have to be responsible so we aren't forced to cut half the roster when the cap returns, unless we're just trying to rent a SB team for a single year...which I'd be completely fine with. 1991 was a long time ago. :(

Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
IMO, we don't Reggie B. it be a waste of money cap space. We have Banks already and RB is not a true RB.

Bush was not expected to return to the Saints next season regardless of what the team did because he has so far declined to take a pay cut when the subject was broached before the NFL lockout began. Bush is due approximately $11.8 million in the 2011 season in base salary and bonuses.
|

Guess I was a year early on the Bush rumors
http://www.thewarpath.net/649584-post39.html http://www.thewarpath.net/649644-post41.html I think it's less likely he comes here though, compared to last year. If we take a RB in the 2nd round it'll be Williams or LeShoure...but I don't think we will and look for Damien Berry as a 5th round option |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
I'd be happy with Leshoure

Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
One Fletcher like Free Agent I haven't heard of linked to the Redskins is Barrett Rudd. What's the deal with him? Is Tampa planning to resign, to expensive, or doesn't fit the 3-4? I really believe that even though he'll cost a good amount it will still give you that star linebacker for years to come.
Reggie Bush is a bit of a dumba$$. I know Bush claims he was joking and all that but maybe his 'jokes' have a point. On the other hand more rest and less practice means more people flying around at full speed not knowing what they're doing. |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
After seeing what we got in the draft I am hoping that we target:
Paul Posluzny LB or Barrett Rudd LB Brandon Mebane NT or Aubrayo Franklin NT or Alan Branch NT Cullen Jenkins DE Nnamdi Asomugha CB or Johnathan Joseph CB or Antonio Cromartie CB Tyson Clabo RG and Robert Gallery LG Shift Corey to Center. Resign Jamal Brown. |

Resign Jamal Brown.
I think that Ruud might be a good pickup as an ILB. I agree that we should resign Jammal Brown. He should be healthier and more familiar with the system this year. I think we should also resign Rex Grossman, Santana Moss, and Carlos Rogers. I think we'll probably pass on DL FA's and play the young players we have at those positions. As for DB's, I hope we don't spend a fortune on a CB (or any other player) in FA. I think I could stand it if we resign "Hands of Stone" to play CB. I certainly agree that we need to sign a CB in FA. To be honest, I haven't a clue as to what to do about the interior OL in Free Agency. It would be nice to get Tyson Clabo or Davin Joseph but I doubt that's going to be possible. There are a couple of other FA's I'd like to see the Skins go after. First, FB Vonta Leach (Houston). He is a top-notch blocker who already knows our offensive system. I'd give him a multi-year deal. Second, if we go after a DL, then I'd like the Skins to consider Chris Hoke (Pitt). Chris already knows our defensive system. He could play either NT or DE. I'd offer him a one year deal while our younger DL players develop. |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
I like the idea of Hoke, we need some players from Pittburgh's defense. I'm not sure about resigning moss because I want to turn the page and go with a youth movement at WR. That is why I hope we would sign Steve Smith of the Giants instead.

I am not sure about those two LBs, if I recall right, I have read some articles that claimed their teams really want to resign them.. I don't believe we will go after Jenkins, only because we drafted a younger Jenkins. As for CB, I would prefer to resign Rogers only because he knows our defense. Although, I would not oppose to the idea of signing Joseph.. Or even Nnamdi (I doubt he wants to sign with a team that is not considered as a contender team). Edit: Seems like I was wrong about Jenkins.. Turns out that Jenkins is high on Redskins' list. Sounds like Barry Coefield could be on the way out in NY. Anybody think he can play NT?

Cofield isn't a 3-4 NT. Decent rotation guy but not much else. We've already got Golston as that type of player.

The more "bad seeds" of the molting exoskeleton that are removed from the Skins and more "good seeds" brought to complement the "good seeds" already here, the better. I want Cullen Jenkins |

Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
I really hope we don't sign Cullen Jenkins. There's no excuse for Green Bay letting him walk at 30 years old after a season like that. Just does not make sense and I would rather develop a Dline inside our system.

Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
what are you implying? that there's some underlying reason for letting him go?
I really don't get what you mean. |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
what are you implying? that there's some underlying reason for letting him go?
I really don't get what you mean.
Yes. It either means he was not what the Packers want moving forward which could be for several reasons. Or that he wants too much money and they feel he's not hard to replace. I've had enough of this free agent DT stuff. It has to end at some point. |
