Re: Should Gruden be fired ?
I hate to say it, but Swearinger being released (as supposed to suspended) with only one game left in the season is an indication that both Gruden and Allen feel very secure in their jobs. Snyder likely would not have allowed the move if he were planning to clean house.
You can't accuse him of being salty because he said these things while he was here.
That's the one thing I do admire him for while still disagreeing with it. He put his name on the quotes. There have been so many anonymous sources taking shots at coaches and teammates the last few years. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk |

Re: Should Gruden be fired ?
If Gruden gets canned here are some candidates:

This. For better or worse he stamped his name on it. |

This is the kinda crap that really ticks me off about Jay. VD and Jordan can't or won't block for crap but for 4 years now Jay has depended on them making blocks in Callahan's super fantastic run scheme. Can you imagine what our run game would look like without AP? All the while, the better half of the league can pick up a street FA who can fall forward for 4 yards. Re: Should Gruden be fired ?
And I'm definitely not saying Holtz or whoever is more talented that VD or Reed, just that those guys have been misused and put in bad schematic situations the entire time they have been here under Jay.

Re: Should Gruden be fired ?
I don't get not having a fullback or Hback on the team. That guy usually can do multiple things, play offense, block, catch, carry the ball a couple times and play on a lot of the teams stuff. A Mike Sellers type. It's not just here but a lot of teams around the league don't carry them anymore.

What is so darn frustrating with this coaching staff is the refusal to use one in the face of our TE's getting blown up on a weekly basis. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk |

https://www.nbcsports.com/washington/redskins/jay-grudens-job-redskins-head-coach-appears-safe-now
I hear you with the injuries, but that he has repeatedly had games where the team is totally flat and gets blown out - particularly on national tv - and it’s just hard to believe that he’s adequately preparing them to be a disciplined, cohesive unit. They’re just not or at least not consistently enough. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Should Gruden be fired ?
At this point it seems hard to believe that we will wind up with a new HC going into the offseason.
All I can hope for is that Dan wises up and atleast throws Allen to the curb tonight or tomorrow. Let the new GM bring in an OC and DC and make Gruden prove himself next season. I don’t expect him to come out and win the Super Bowl, but he has got to keep the team motivated there were too many weeks we came out flat. And he has to gain and maintain control of the lockeroom. The sad part is as long as Dan is the owner he will always put a dollar in his pocket over the long term success of the team. It’s a sad state we are in as a franchise and all I can hope is that he sees the stands tonight and has a wake up call. He has to be realizing that his cash cow is quickly turning into a money pit in its current state. |
Most, if not all of the owners are involved to some degree. This idea that the owner just sits in the box and cuts the checks is a little naïve.
They certainly need to be involved in the business side of things. But they absolutely should not, IMO, be making the football decisions. Being great at business does not equate being great at making football decisions. Because if that was the case, then Dan would be one of the best owners. I hate to give Jerry Jones any credit, but he is far more knowledgeable about day to day football stuff than Dan Snyder. Jerry knows football too. Dan has proven himself to be thoroughly an idiot when it comes to football only decisions. |
