I guess the point I was asking about is how can people support legalizing Marijuana on the one hand and want cigs banned on the other???

As for the Cartel aspect I raised - it was to point out that they'd love it if Cigs were banned.

One thing a ban movement would have is financing as I'm sure the Mexican drug cartels would be willing to support an effort to outlaw cigarettes.
