A college lacrosse player is in hot water after allegedly going on a wild rampage to see what it's like playing Grand Theft Auto in real life.

Zachary Burgess, 20, allegedly stole a truck and kidnapped a woman in Baton Rouge, La., before plowing the vehicle into nine parked cars and fleeing the scene.

Angry passersby gave chase and pinned him down until cops arrived to arrest him at 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

He then reportedly told officers he wanted to live out what players of the violent video game usually only experience from the comfort of their own couches.

NBC33TV.com reports that the Auburn University freshman, in town to watch Auburn take on LSU, stole the truck after its owner left it running in a bar parking lot.

With a woman inside, he tried to speed away — but was halted by other cars that were parked in his way.

Undeterred, he tried to bump his way out, but ended up giving up and running off. Police arrived to find the truck abandoned and a group of people pinning him down.

Burgess, from Hoover in Alabama, was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, kidnapping and nine counts of hit and run.

He was released on Sunday after posting the $80,000 bond.

i went to the grocery store yesterday and bought some stuff including chicken nuggets. get home and the wifey says "why did you buy soy nuggets?", i say i didnt i bought chicken nuggets.

she sd "no, you bought chik'n nuggets and then read off all these never heard of ingredients and additives ..."

but the box had a big picture of chicken nuggets on the front and said chik'n nuggets .. it was some gourmet store so i just figured rich people spelled things different to try and be cute.

All three were repeat offenders of varying degrees - one on seemingly minor charges. Had any of them actually served significant time, this man might still be alive.

I get the underlying problems with a draconian application of the "3 Strikes And Your Out" rule. At the same time, why do repeat offenders get sooo many chances. I have a matter where the guy committed seven violent crimes, plead guilty and got suspended sentence after suspended sentence until he finally killed someone. It boggles the mind.

Easy fix though. The jerk that did it should be terminated IMMEDIATELY and they should hook her up with a free meal to welcome her back. If she's a long-time customer, she should go back. It was one person, not the whole restaurant.

Stunts like this and taking a bath in the sink are why fast food workers get a bad name. Many are hard-working people just trying to make it but the real idiots among them hurt everyone.

My sentiments exactly, unfortunately there are too many bleeding heart liberals that think since these murders are young they can be rehabilitated, or it isn't 100% their fault because they had bad childhoods. I see two of them smiling in their mugshots, to me that screams sociopath. I don't care how old they are they don't belong in society and if they continue to live they are a threat to innocent people or others that deserve a second chance. If prison's are over crowded they need to start releasing the non violent offenders early, the violent offenders need to serve out their sentences and murderers like the 3 above need to be executed in a few years from conviction, not a few decades.
