Re: Dallas will get sweet revenge
BOZZY, sorry for your loss. I know how you feel, I lost two close friends in two weeks since Thanksgiving. And I lost my father during the holidays last year.
Keep the faith bro! |
Re: Cowboys-Redskins: Bad Matchups
Personally I'm not ready to write TJ off as a complete bust.
Other than Moss and Cooley, nobody in this offense has received many looks. Patten didn't see many balls go his way, and we assumed it was all on him. Now TJ isn't getting many looks, and again we assume it must be him. Perhaps Brunell is just so locked in on Cooley and Moss that the #2 WR isn't getting a fair shake. I think it's fair to say that could be the case. If Moss and Cooley are the first two options, then technically TJ or Patten are then the #3 WR and most #3 WR's in this league don't rack up huge numbers.
Patten has proven himself to be a capable wideout in the NFL. While some here may have written him off as a has-been, or that he suddenly forgot how to play, I think it's been more of a chemistry thing with Brunell. If, as you say Brunell is locked in to only two receivers to the point that he's neglecting other parts of the field, then that's the fault of Brunell. Jacobs on the other hand has had time to break into the starting lineup and each year fails to do it. He has been virtually silent in his first legitimate shot at a starting role. Now, to be fair, Jacobs has been pushed into the #2 spot at a time when the offense as a whole seems to be in a rut. But by the same token, if Jacobs was truly going to be an effective player in this league, his play would be enhancing this offense, instead of being one of the reasons that it's struggling. Still, I'll agree that Jacobs deserves at least the chance to make a contribution throughout the remainder of the season. If by then he hasn't "stepped up" and established himself as a member of the starting unit, his time here may have officially run out. |
Watch out for Antonio Brown and/or Sean Taylor thrown in the offensive mix.

Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith, Jerome Bettis, Jim Brown, Marshall Faulk, Barry Sanders, Earl Campbell, John Riggins.
Upright runners just don't fare as well as traditional 'pads down' runners it just a fact. That doesn't mean that they can't succeed, just means that the deck is stacked against them.
the deck is'nt stacked against them , there just are'nt as many rbs with their stile compared to "low pad" rbs. but the "up right" rbs are just as successfull , just less of them out there. |
Re: Dallas will get sweet revenge
Good to see my boys representing over here on our rival fansite's board. I don't think this game will be as close as it was last time. I'm predicting a semi-blowout in DC.

Flee flicker wont work THIS time and Yes our D will handle your (giggle) run game once again! 27-13 Skins I CANT WAIT!!!!!!! I still dont understand why you cowboy fans are impelled to come here. We have a Cowboy fan here already...name 5rings.....1 is ENOUGH. |
Re: Cowboys-Redskins: Bad Matchups
Look, we can speculate, analyze, and synthesize this shit until we are blue in the face. The bottom line is that Joe Gibbs will share with this team his knowledge and experience as a head coach and have them prepared for this game. Execution is the key for this game moreso than any other game. The twelth man must execute the resounding noises that can resonate from RFK to FedEx.

Keys to victory for Dallas
I see a close game no doubt, simply because we are the Cowboys and all we do is play close games. The key for Dallas is stopping Portis, bottom line. People may say different and try to evaluate our pass D or the way Moss had success in the last game we played but the bottom line is we need to stop the skins run. In the first meeting we basically stopped Portis and you see the problems the skins O had in that game. those bombs at the end in my opinion were a once in a lifetime type plays, I dont see it happeneing again. Im sure Parcells and the coaching staff will review the first game and try to implicate the same scheme and be more weary of the long ball. Stopping Portis and preassuring brunnell is the way we will beat the skins. What Im fearful of is that WE wont run the ball forcing us to throw, throw, throw and get into a situation where we are forced to score to keep us in the game. Plus our defense is the jeckel and hide of the NFL, we can look so diminant one week and then the next look like we dont know what we are doing. Our run D will tighten this week and we will win a close game, giving Julius Jones his first 100 yrd game of the year. Bledsoe will look bad through out the game but will throw the game winning TD late in the 4th. Dallas over the skins 17-14 GO DALLAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Dallas will get sweet revenge
Well guys Im sorry to tell you but Dallas will run, pass and tackle its way past the skins on sunday. There is to much at stake to lose to the deadskins and we have that miracle on monday night on our minds. Nothing will be sweeter than returning the favor in YOUR stadium and ending your playoff hopes, no matter how small they may be. Dont let the Larry Johnson performance fool you and think Dallas is now susceptable to the run because they played the pass trying to stop the run with only 7 men in the box against one of the best o-lines in football. We will stack the line vs Portis and dare Brunell to beat us and the old man just doesnt have it in him anymore. GO DALLAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go Boys!
Those who are afraid that we could lose to Dallas are those who probably are complacent with life as it is and not subjective to change. Because to change means to sacrifice something you think is good. What's good in losing 14 out of 16 games to this bum-ass Dallas team that is as inconsistent as any NFL team in the league aside from Indianapolis? I'll tell you not one thing. We have finally gotten to the corner and are ready to turn the corner. With or without our starters. With our without alot of points. We will win this game because the players believe they can win. I don't care what we did against the Giants, they would have beaten the 75' Steelers with the emotional mindset they approached this game from. I expect the same from Washington. The Reskins must impose their will on Dallas and knock them down everytime they get up. |
