Re: If Pryor entered the supplemental draft would you pick him.
Kiper is right. If a team does take a shot at him it is at the Wr position. Sorry guys, I am a Big Ten guy and the kid is talented, but in Columbus many if not most of the folks you blogged or talked to thought he really progressed as expected. His decision making never really got much better from his freshman year. He still forced the ball at critical junctures in key games. On top of that is indeed his character. He is an all about me type of guy. Why would you hock special awards and momentos for lousy tattoos.
The guy is a QB, not a WR. He did some really stupid things but didn't you when you were his age? I'm not sure if he's NFL material or not, he did improve last year. I'd take a shot at him if it only costed a late round pick. |
Re: If Pryor entered the supplemental draft would you pick him.
I'd waste a pick on him with one of our late rounders that we have more than one of. Do we have 2 5th, 6th, or 7th rounders for next years draft?

Re: If Pryor entered the supplemental draft would you pick him.
Heard on the radio yesterday (Gottlieb) that Pryor is INELIGIBLE because to be eligible foe the supp draft, the player has to be in some form of hardship that is NOT self-induced.
Pryor brought everything on himself = ineligible. |

The head coach knew and decided to turn and look the other way. I agree, both are to blame. Pryor should've tried to latch on with the CFL if he had the chance. Not playing any football this year is really going to hurt him. I'd say the UFL but they might not even have a season. |
Re: If Pryor entered the supplemental draft would you pick him.
Pryor only needs a statement from Ohio State or the NCAA stating that he is ineligible. It's a forgone conclusion that Ohio State's AD will be more than happy to sign. Sorry fellas he'll be in the supplemental.

Re: If Pryor entered the supplemental draft would you pick him.
I don't understand how the NFL would prevent any team to acquire him as a UDFA. I mean are there rules about how players can join a team after they leave school? He's obviously going to be ineligible to return to NCAA football.

My guess is you have to make yourself eligable with the NFL by a particular time prior to the season. After that, no team would be allowed to bring you in. Otherwise, you'd have kids bypassing the draft or declaring late just to go to the teams they wanted to. They probably make exceptions in certain cases, which is why we have the suplemental draft in the summer. If the NFL has him as ineligable, no team is going to be allowed to pick him up. The guy is not that accurate, plus he has a nasty tendency to force the ball at important moments in a game. It is more the Kiper that is saying he isn't a QB in the NFL. He is quick, but he lacks the decision making that would make him worth giving up a pick for. |

Maybe he can be taken by a team as an UDFA (if hes not eligible for supp draft). Im not sure either. I think he wants to be eligible for supp draft so he can be drafted, probably makes it more likely he would get a better contract from a team than if they just signed him as an UDFA. Either way, i hope we dont have anything to do with him. I wouldnt even offer a 7th rounder. Not worth the potential trouble and headache imo. |
No. He won't be able to be a UDFA if he's not ruled eligible. Teams have to be able to have a chance to draft players on the list to make things even. It's up to the NFL to decide that list of players eligible to be drafted. (all else hit the road) He wants to be eligible for the supplemental draft so he can play in the NFL this year. That said, not sure why they wouldn't rule him eligible because Jeremy Jarmon was ruled ineligible due to a failed drug test. Not sure if I see a difference in that and selling gear for cash. |
Re: If Pryor entered the supplemental draft would you pick him.
I'd use a 3rd round pick on him. If he doesn't pan-out as a QB, he's talented enough to be useful in a "wildcat" package and could even see a few plays a game in the backfield/slot.
