onder how long it will take for jessie jackson or al sharpton to call this a racist act?
WTF? What makes you think they would?
I think the union has to be careful with this and let it ride. They would certainly be walking a very, very fine line with trying to defend Pac on this one. Furthermore, in doing so they would send the wrong message and might fall out of favor with the Commish.

Upshaw and Co. should stay away from this one.
Dude. Who do you work for? I think any team should be able to terminate a player's contract based on the severity of his off-the-field play. Terminating a contract in addition to say, a 8-game suspension, gives the player a fair opportunity to continue his career if another club is interested in taking that risk. A year long suspension just puts a player's livelihood in limbo for too long.

Great move by the commisioner! and Im still hoping for a deal for Asante Samuels. A corner with his talent is what we have missed since Champ.
WTF? What makes you think they would?
I was scrolling through the SportsNation response to the suspension on ESPN.com yesterday (talk about a waste of time) and a lot of the people seemed to think there was a racial element to the suspensions. They seemed to think that if these were white players they would have gotten off much easier.
I'm not trying to start and argument over this, I'm just explaining what I read.
Fair or not that does happen to people in the real world all the time.
Oh really? How would your employer know if you were involved with the police in some type of incident? Would ESPN, CNN, MSNBC, or The NFL Network let them know?

Well, considering they are quite possibly THE most racist people on the planet, I wouldn't put it past them.
Why anyone listens to ANYTHING that comes out of their mouths is beyond me. Didn't sharpton make enough of an ass of himself during his joke of a presidential campaign?

So what did each of them do? I know about the whole making it rain thing, but what else did Pac and Henry do? Can anyone sum it up?

well alot of professions require licenses, such as my oath to uphold and follow the law and am required to notify the maryland bar if i get arrested . . . the language of the commish's letter assumes they did what they are accused of even though i dont think pacman went to trial yet . . . did he? was he found guilty or plea down? . . either way, the league has set a very stern standard that they are going to have to consistently apply from here on out, good luck with that

to the guy above, i think pacman was at a bowling alley, had an altercation or exchange of words with people, he or someone in his group came back with a piece moments later and started busting shots . . . i dont know what henry did but dude looks unstable, alcohol?

I'm sure Henry's transgressions are somewhere too

Re: Pacman suspended for entire 2007 season!

oh sorry about saying it was a bowling alley ala AI . . . never realized just how much trouble jones was getting into, YOUR MOM CATCHES A POSSESSION CHARGE!!!
does the nfl suspension of pacman open the door to a long term (6 mos or more and he aint in county holding but in state penn) jail sentence if he is found guilty b/c he wont be able to make the argument that incarcerating him would be an undue hardship given the millions of dollars he would forfeit????

Pacman's employment status isn't likely to dramatically alter his sentence, if any.

No he has not been to trial yet on these latest events. And that shouldn't make a hill of beans, personal conduct has nothing to do with going to court.

This guy is a lose cannon, and is getting exactly what he deserves. The lose of his PRIVILEGES to play in this league for at LEAST one year.
