Shanahan Turned Down Coaching Offer This Year

Supposedly Mike Shanahan was offered the coaching job this season. Redskins One in Denver might make sense now.

Re: Shanahan Turned Down Coaching Offer This Year

I think that that came out a bit ago but didn't make it as a new thread. I seem to recall someone posting some source saying that he had turned down our job offers twice and that the first one was before the Zorn promotion.

Re: Shanahan Turned Down Coaching Offer This Year

Its's not that they were thinkin of getting him an offer was made for him to take over the team while zorn was still the head coach and he told the redskins that that never works in the nfl and turned it down, trying to trade for a new qb in the offseason is one thing but trying to trade head coaches mid season is aboslute madness

What's your point here?

Re: Shanahan Turned Down Coaching Offer This Year

i guess i'm the only one outraged by this? it just seems insane to me, snyder has done some crazy s in the past but i think shopping for a coach to come in midseason makes the rest of it look like childs play, this just goes to show he has NO loyalty to ANYONE and doesn't have the slightest clue how to run a franchise

Yeah I expected that thought to further develop

I mean a mid-season change obviously means that you're offering somebody a job before you've gotten rid of the other guy.. what a mess if you fired the one and thought that you had another guy, but he turned it down...

Re: Shanahan Turned Down Coaching Offer This Year

I don't have a problem with looking for Zorn's replacement during the season. It shouldn't necessarily be up to Snyder to do that, and it definitely shouldn't be Shanahan. Great offensive playcaller...but we really don't want him here as the head of personnel. We really don't...do we?

This is old news. It was rumored that Napoleon approached Shanahoverated who said piss off you are a joke.

This wasn't surprising to anyone when it was just a rumor..

I think they were trying to figure out a way to bring in Cutler and Shanahan as a package deal. Ha.
