JGR's Joey Logano Becomes Youngest Nationwide Series Winner Ever

Joey Logano became the youngest winner in Nationwide Series history Saturday night, cruising to victory in the Meijer 300 at Kentucky Speedway.

The 18-year-old Logano, making his third series start, took the lead from teammate Kyle Busch with 53 laps remaining and rolled on after Busch spun out with 37 laps to go.

I was telling SBF about him a while back. A lot of people think he could be the next Jeff Gordon (in terms of talent) which isn't all that bad

To be compared to Jeff Gordon is like comparing basketball players to Jordan. It would be EXTREMELY tough to meet those lofty expectations when Jeff Gordon is the best driver still driving right now, and one of the best ever.
That being said, congrats to the youngster, hopefully he's not listening to the comparisons and will just try to be the best racer he can be.

On a side note...is it possible we are witnessing the driver who will possibly replace the best driver ever to race for JGR...Stewart?

ps- You'd be proud of me SS, I actually watched the race...which is unusual for me since I feel it's like the minor league of Sprint Cup...but it was an entertaining race. I might have to watch a few more this year.

Busch/Nationwide races are pretty good from a race standpoint...you get a mix of up and coming drivers, old guys hanging on and Sprint Cup drivers getting in "practice".

and jsarno, it's not like they are comparing the kid to The King Richard Petty...now that's lofty expectations

HAHA, yeah, but I would argue that Gordon is a top 5 all time driver, and you could possibly argue a top 2 driver given all the rule changes over the years to equal out competition.
