Who is the surprise team in the NFC in 2007

I know the bears are heavy favorites....however, with NO looking shaky in week one, who do you think is going to be the #2 team in the NFC if not #1.

It's very difficult to choose after week 1, because in my opinion week 1 don't mean S*** but take a shot anyway.

I'll say the panthers will bounce back with a stronger running game, talented defense...weaker division, and a determined Delhomme

Redskins are my sleeper of course

Re: Who is the surprise team in the NFC in 2007

Because its the NFC, its not like one team will surprise and the rest will perform as expected. A lot of turnover will hapoen each year. However:

Green Bay could win 11 games
Carolina could win 10 games
San Francisco could win 9 games
We could win 10 games
Arizona has a chance to be .500

Not sure if any of that, save Green Bay, is really surprising, but all those teams should do better than "expected". Which basically means that pundits should stop being so surprised and change their projections. But they never will.

Yes! Shameless media dig!

Green Bay is not going to win 11 games. All the Favreophiles are coming out of the closet.

Looks like another year of atleast 3 AFC teams being better than the best NFC team. How boring.

The Panthers & us may be on parallel paths. We both had high expectations last year, only to fall way short. This year we both have a lot of the same starters on the field & have made some adjustments too.

I think a team that will challenge Chicago for that div. is the Vikes. A strong run game & D is enough to get 8-9 wins in the nfc. If T. Jackson improves they could get a couple more & win the division.

I see Chicago falling on hard times at some point, they lost a couple starters on D & they can't go on w/Rex like he is. Look for them to slip to 8 or 7 wins.

Surprise good team: Minnesota because of Adrian Petersen.
Surprise middling team: Atlanta won't be as bad as everyone expects.
Surprise bad team: Tampa is going to bite cornflakes.

Darkhorse bad team: Cowboys let down America and finish 5-11, replacing us as America's most valuable team and replacing our position in the cellar of the NFC East.

Darkhorse good team: Giants. Every time in recent memory that anyone predicted doom and gloom for them they outperformed, got every lucky break possible, then choked in their final post-season game. The exception to this that comes to mind is the Ray Handley era. Looking back five years from now though, maybe what could be the final year of the Tom Coughlin era will remind people and have them longing for --Ray Handley.

Re: Who is the surprise team in the NFC in 2007

panthers look like they could do really well this year.
seahawks look like they're back to form.
GB is better than expected, but still not very good.
vikes ARE good as long as peterson and the OL can click like that.

atlanta is going to be very very bad. tampa will be a little better than last year, but still not good. SF looks like they've improved a bit, but not nearly as much as their payroll might indicate.

Way too early to even begin conjecture of this nature. Why? It is only week 1 and for the most part almost all the teams, but the 3 top AFC contenders, played subpar ball. Minnesota played very well in week 1, but it is week one. 16 teams are undefeated, can't say who is dominant after one lousy week.

like I said my final four teams all play on OCT 28th Redskins (6-0) vs. Patriots (6-0)

and Panthers (6-0) vs. Colts (6-0) they will all be undefeated at the time and that is my final four this season
