wtf is the deal w/ cutler

ok i know cutler is/was a decent qb in denver, but wtf is the deal with (almost)EVERYONE thinking he is a great qb? granted he has put up some good numbers but wtf everyone makes excuses for this guy i don't get it, i just watched sports center and they claim that 3 of the int's in the san fran game were not his fault(he threw 5), i'm sorry i guess i really don't see what everyone else does, i see this guy as a mediocre qb and nothing more seriously wtf has he done to get so much praise

Get drafted in the first round.

Other than that I don't know why there is a fuss about him. I'm thankful we didn't give up what Chicago did to get him.

He's a POS QB is what is wrong with him. There is no f'ing excuse for throwing 5 picks against the worst passing defense in the league...and to think people think this fool is better QB than JC.

Re: wtf is the deal w/ cutler

Kurt Warner threw 5 interceptions two weeks ago and threw for 5 TDs last week.

Guys like Warner, Favre and Cutler play to win games. They try to make the difficult throws instead of dumping off to a RB in the flat.

Cutler looked like crap last night but at the same time he can get hot and beat any team.
I will take him over JC everyday of the week and twice on Sundays.

He's Jeff George 2.0.. Tools that will make you drool but his talent and decision making fall well short of the level of his bravado. I think he's always going to be a guy who looks like he's about to turn the corner and then pull out a stinker like this. Like the old cliche, he's good enough to keep both teams in the game.

Arrogant bastard who seriously thought he was better than Elway. He started believing what everyone was telling him and probably slacked off ie Tony Romo. He is young and talented a really bad year could help him, he could re commit himself.

Yep, Cutler is good for sure but probably overrated too. I think he started believing his own press.

Can you imagine what the guy would have looked like behind our offensive line? Yikes!

Re: wtf is the deal w/ cutler

The deal is a QB can't do it all by himself.

That said Cutler is trying to do too much and it's killing them.

You and me both. I have Palmer and Cutler as my Fantasy QB's - Two weeks ago, I started Cutler he puts up ~10 and Palmer on the bench puts up 35. Last week, I start Palmer and he puts up ~10 and Cutler puts up 25. This week start Cutler b/c Palmer is playing the Steelers and he gets - 3 (and my opponent has Gore who put up 14).

Expect Palmer to have a huge day against the Steelers.

I feel ya, I play musical chairs with one of my teams where I have Rogers and Schaub. No matter who I start the other one always puts up bigger numbers. F me.

Re: wtf is the deal w/ cutler

In Denver, Cutler had a good line, very good WR's, a coach who loved him and a system built for him. On top of that, he has some talent. In Chicago, he's got a crappy line and no name WR's (back when the trade was made someone here said that Cutler's WR's in Chicago would be putting big numbers by mid-season. Well, it's mid-season and the only "receivers" putting up big numbers are the DB's).

He's Brett Favre without as much arm strength, moxie or charisma.

Re: wtf is the deal w/ cutler

Cutler does have a laid back way about him and his body language at times doesn't exude much confidence.

I find the comparison to Jeff George interesting, but I don't think Cutler is that bad in terms of not giving a shit about being a leader. Still, I think the comparison is interesting.

My thoughts exactly as I watched the game last night. He's not a bad teamate like George was, but at the same time watch this guy in interviews, if you didn't know who he was you'd think he was a defendant that's trying poorly to lie about a crime he committed.

As for espn saying 3 of the picks "weren't his fault" I just hope they're not counting the one he threw near the goal line to the nose tackle. His reciever was so covered yet the nose guard got to the ball before the dbs.

I know he's talented; great arm strength & athleticism, but it appears he's got a lot of growing up to do to be a winning qb.
