Updated: Browns Select WR Josh Gordon in 2nd Round

Im sure someone mentioned this previously but I did look and didn't see it. If Sunny and Sam can start they're own thread then why can something that actually pertains to our future? Josh Gordon at around 6'3 and 225 and runs a 4.4 40 yard dash. He played at Baylor with our beloved RG3 and hopefully has some chemistry. We need a big receiver and he could be that guy at a discounted rate. A 4th rounder is all we would need to give up. Is it worth it? Personally, I think it would be. Thoughts?

There are other big wide receivers who are still in college now that will be worth a 4th round selection come next April. Our wide receiving corp is set already.

Because he played at Baylor, I would go to RG3 and just ask. If RG3 said this guy is a must have, someone who is very comfortable with, someone who could help me make the transition, Skins should put in a bid. I just dont think he is "that guy" and really dont see the value higher than say a 6th rounder.

We've mentioned him before in the Around the offseason thread.

Rich Tandler said to not expect the skins to put in a pick for him in the supplemental draft. He said that our WR core is set and that the redskins don't want to waste a pick on a guy with drug problems.

We already have a full stable of WRs that have unknown potential.
It doesn't make sense to me to give up another draft pick (where we're already behind the count) and for a WR that we might not even need if the unproven WRs we have pan out when they're giving there opportunities.

There are a finite number of targets and catches a receiver can have and we already have more receivers then opportunities.

I definitely wouldn't want to give up anything more than a 7th rounder. We've already got a logjam at WR and we don't need to give away any more quality picks.

unless he'd be better than moss etc, no thanks. have too many, he got kicked off the team (not good). and there have been plenty of big fast WRs that have bounced out of the nfl without any stats to show for it.

If he doesn't get drafted and is an UDFA only.

I really like the "value" there often seems to be in the supplemental draft. And i got no problem using a pick a year early, in fact i find it preferable.

That said im with you and everyone else, considering our logjam at wr. But i dont really see a major difference in 5th round to 7th round pick potential, so a 5th would be cool w me.

If he can catch, run routes, and beat the jam someone will give him a shot.

We do need a big target WR, but I would be more comfortable with a proven commodity who won't cost any draft picks e.g. Burress is the perfect fit.
