Re: All things Jam Bands Thread

I leave for the annual wannee music fest Monday to say goodbye to one of my favorite bands of all time, the allman brothers. Greg allman and crew are hanging it up after this year, unbelievable run. I first saw them when I was a freshman in high school and was blown away. If u take anything away from this post, take this:the allman brothers band album" live at the Fillmore east" is the greatest live album ever. Please go out and get it. If u hold any judgements of the band, remove them and just listen to that album if u like rock, blues, jazz or jam bands.

Re: All things Jam Bands Thread

I saw a jam cover band called Dark Star Orchestra. They mostly did Grateful Dead songs but they did some other diddies as well. They were pretty good.

Re: All things Jam Bands Thread

I know they are old but before their lead singer and guitarist shot himself to death cleaning his gun Chicago was a hell of a rock band.

^ nice. I know the song not the bandmembers so much. Didnt even know he was dead. Never heard a live version of that i dont think. They definitely jam it and I would totally rock the shirt on the right. Im assuming he is the lead singer but its strange the other dude is in the middle. Am I wrong about that?

The guitarist was the the lead of "early" Chicago" the bass player to the right of the screen does sing lead on that song ,his name is Peter Cetera
Peter Cetera - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and still very much alive .He took over most the leads after Terry Kath died .
