20 feet? Wow you think you would survive that. Some are say he was talking after the fall but then died on the way to the hospital.

YouTube - ‪Rangers Fan Falls & Dies After Trying To Catch Foul Ball 7/7/11‬‏

I pray that is not his son to the right of him, to watch your dad die when you suppose to be at a game having fun. Awful.

I'm surprised he even made it to the hospital, falling 20 feet and landing head first on concrete doesn't seem to be something you'd survive.

And unfortunately yes that is his son

Awful about his son. Life it can be taken so quick.

Not to at all make light of this but I could see this in a Final Destination movie, you keep wondering what will kill him then bam he goes over the railing.

Re: Fan Dies At Texas Rangers Game

I saw that this morning and was just shocked. I feel so bad for everyone involved. Like they kept showing it over and over, made me feel terrible that the son got the watch that, not to mention the rest of the fans and players.

Re: Fan Dies At Texas Rangers Game

Just a bad situation all around. The next inevitable thought/question: could this have been prevented? Will players not give balls to fans anymore in fear they might hurt them? Does the MLB need to tell players not to throw balls in the stands? Does that ruin a great tradition that comes with attending games?

I guess those questions will be better dealt with later...
