Talking The animals give their affection unconditionally, and they are less judgemental thread

14 months ago me and my wife rescued a ten year old shitzu. Three months later we found out she was a diabetic. She has a had a tough life, and now must endure two insulin shots a day for the rest of her life. It is expensive and inhibits our ability to vacation, or even spend a night out. We love her to death though and she is worth every penny and hour we spend. Three days ago she suddenly got very sick. Our Vet gave us some not so great news, and was basically preparing me for the her to be put down. We took her to a very expensive animal hospital, and spent alot of money ( that we barely have) to get her better. In those three days, I have had my hopes raised and dashed. Cried, prayed, gotten angry, and accepted the fact that we made her last year her best year. Than this morning the vet gave me some good news. We might be taking her home tomorrow. I know she is a pet and not a child, friends and family come first, but for those of you who love your pets you know how much they can become part of the family. I posted this story in the super happy fun thread and explained that I have been thinkin about starting a pet thread throughout my ordeal RedskinRat cemented the thought and the "says it all" title of the thread. It is my hope all of the pet lovers, or haters can share their good, sad, or flat out insane thoughts on pets here. Maybe if someone has a sick pet and has no answer (like me for three days) somebody else can shed lite because of their own experience and actually save an animals life.

I did if you are being serious. That sounds like it is more directed at those mother****ers than our little furry friends? Lol
Seriously is this a duplicate type thread?

No it was more about how I hate vets; this not a dupe thread.

The cat likes to weave between my legs on the toilet.

Or stare at me like I'm doing something horrible.

I love pets and when we move we are getting a dog from a local shelter. I'll still say the best dog is the one that is happy and healthy and right when their heath starts to go they get hit by a car. Clean and quick and no Vet Bills.

Re: The animals give their affection unconditionally, and they are less judgemental thread

My neighbor has a one year old English Lab that I've known since he was a month old puppy. It is the perfect relationship. The dog freaking loves me and I don't have to worry about feeding, walking, cleaning, taking him to the vet, spending loads of money, etc, etc. I'm basically the dogs cool uncle.

Good job Punch!
....when I think about whether or not to spend money like that.......I think, what else could I do with it that would buy me so many good feelings?
............nothing
AND, it is the right thing to do. That gets overlooked far to much today.
