Rabach adds versatility to o line Schedule

http://www.redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=6022

I think we need to bring back ray brown and leave the left tackle postion open to either samuels or brown. yes we just gave chris a whole lot of money, but hes coming off a not so good season. #60 need to show bugel and the rest of the crew hes are man and with a little competion from brown might make him step his game up that much more. With the signing of rabach and the return of jansen the o line is brewing up a solid core of protection for ramsey. RAbach adds quickness and the ability to play guard and center. KNOW IF WE COULD JUST SIGN POLLARD

Samuels is the starting left tackle period.

Ray Brown is no threat to take his job.

If Brown is going to compete for a starting job it will be with Dockery at LG.

I think the only person on that line that has worry about competition is Derrick Dockery because we would have 4 players that are interchangible to play his position if we resign Brown ( Rabach, Friedmenn, Raymer, and Brown). Samuels will be alot better this year with the return of Jon Jansen, the heart of the oline. Losing him last season killed our offense's Moral, its gona be a good year for the line we'll have a powerful offense, mark my words

Chris Samuels held his own pretty well last season. How many sacks did he allow last season? one, maybe two. He made some pretty nice holes for Portis to run through also and he did it all on a bum ankle. Give the guy a break. Him back strong and healthy basically gives no one else a shot to start anyway.

However, we should definitely sign Ray Brown for another year if he doesn't retire. He is a quality backup and a quality guy.

No threat is right but the fact that we are talking about Ray Brown coming back for another year is somthing else. His career is like Darrell Greens he just keeps going. He maybe the second 20 year player to retire as a Redskin. He's not the best lineman in the league but he still holds is owen. I would not mind at all to see him back for another year at minimum cost. We know just what we're getting for our buck.

Brown is a straight up freak of nature. For a guy his age playing such a demanding and physical position is amazing.

that is a ridiculous statement. he gave up like 3 sacks with statuesque Brunell and Ramsey back there. Samuels is a top LT in the league. He's in the top 6 or 7. He was learning an entirely new blocking scheme after the disaster of Spurrier (as did the rest of the line which did a remarkably good job of protection considering our immobility at the QB position). Another year like the past one and he is back in the probowl period. The Skins aren't gonna shell out millions on an extension of a guy who had a "not so good season"

Re: Rabach adds versatility to o lineSchedule

Bugel says Samuels graded out as their best lineman and only gave up 1 sack.

Samuels should only continue to improve under Bugel's guidance.

Re: Rabach adds versatility to o lineSchedule

Samuels wasn't quite back to his 2001/02 form, but with another off season and training camp of coaching from Buges i wouldn't be surprised to see him back in the Pro Bowl.

Him and Jansen have to be amongst if not the best pair of tackles in the NFL, assuming Jansen is back 100%.

Re: Rabach adds versatility to o line Schedule

There were rumors that Jansen could have come back at the end of last season, not sure how accurate those rumors were though.

He should be 100% or very close to it by September.

The end of last season would have been silly for him to return. See what happened to laVar? Just get ready for the next season!
