Friday Night Lights

Not sure how many of you are still watching this, but FNL is an amazing show. In fact, it's better than the movie. As the inaugural season has played out, the writing has given depth to all characters- in one episode, you'll have an opinion of team booster Buddy Garrity or paralyzed QB Jason Street and in the next, you'll see a different angle which makes them tick. I especially think the coach's wife is an underrated performance by Connie Britton.

The actual football play is minimal (kept to maybe five or ten minutes every two or three episodes), but I like this fact. The story is driven more by plot and character development anyway.

Sadly, it seems no one is watching. This is a program that deserves a second season, but I don't see it happening.

Re: Friday Night Lights

It is my second favorite show on TV right now behind Heroes. I hope it can stay on air. It really isn't a football show at all. The kid who plays Sarasin is the best actor on the show. His performance is spot on. Last night's ep was very good. Dumb Landry had to be late didn't he!? Stupid POS car.

A f-n great show. I make sure to watch it every week. I think in the pilot episode Riggins was was #44, which I clearly saw and then when the 2nd eppisode aired he was 33. I wonder if there was something about that. Anyone else notice that?

Re: Friday Night Lights

I like the last show when Street tought Sarinson how to throw an 18 yard out. It got me so pumped how he broke it down to him.

"You hit the slants, the posts and they'll respect you. You hit this,... and they will fear you !"

DAMN!!!!

And the one where Mac McGill got in trouble for the "racist" comment he made and when they got back after the game and Smash asked him what happened ad McGill says, "He made a mistake...son. Just like I did........See you at practice tomorrow"

And to think I slept on that show at first !

Great show. It will be back next season. It has picked up a little steam since the beginning of the season.

Re: Friday Night Lights

I just finished season 3, ready to dive into season 4 once Netflix sends it out. Hoping to get caught up in time to watch season 5 this fall.

Re: Friday Night Lights

Anyone else see the series finale last night? I'm seriously bummed out the show is over. Definitely one of my all time favorite series. Great finale though, and a very solid season overall to end it.

A fantastic show, and I had no idea that the current season just ended or was even underway!! Damn it how could that happen?? I'll have to catch up on line. I've seen every episode prior to the season that just ended. Seriously great television.

Re: Friday Night Lights

Wait, so NBC.com says the season premier is April 15th. But a google search for Friday Night Lights says the series finale was on DirecTV last night. I have RCN, which would explain why I didn't notice it on my channel guide.

Do you know what's going on with this Matty?

It ran on DirecTV first, it runs on NBC in April.

DirecTV picked up half the production costs to help save the show, so they got first run of seasons 3-5.
