Time to move on from Ovechkin/Crosby rivalry?

Is it really about Ovechkin and Crosby? - DC Pro Sports Interaction Forum

What do you think Warpath Caps fans. Has the Caps/Pens rivalry moved beyond Alex and Sid?

Yeah, I'd say the Caps-Pens rivalry is better than the Crosby/Ovechkin thing. Both are major reasons to their teams' success, but at the end of the day it's about the team, and even though in recent years we haven't matched up well with Pitt I think we proved last night we can play with them.

Re: Time to move on from Ovechkin/Crosby rivalry?

I've got to say I've never been into Hockey that much. I would watch the local team here in Richmond a little but the NHL...i couldn't watch it. Last year though, I started watching the Caps and Ovechkin throughout the season a little especially toward the end of the year. When the playoffs came around I was hooked.

Out of the blue this year, I'm really excited about this season and have watched a couple games including last nights game. So, I've really gotten into it. It's pretty good stuff.

So, i guess Ovechkin's talent and play intrigued me enough to become a new NHL fan. I think that's what the NHL wants.

Re: Time to move on from Ovechkin/Crosby rivalry?

People are going to say there is a rivalry between Ovechkin and Crosby only because they're so young, so good, and so widly talked about. Personally, I think Ovechkin would much rather show up Malkin, and Semin would rather show up Crosby. But, the bottom line is that rivalries are between teams, not players.
