He's done a terrible job, name one member of this year's draft class who has contributed to the squad this year.

Why wait? Fire his ass already so we can get a head start on finding a new lackey for Ron.

Agreed. I'm not sure what they are waiting for. This should have been done weeks ago.

Yeah those are all good picks it seems, but if you are going to give him credit for all those, you have to also acknowledge

Derrius Guice
Geron Christian Sr
Troy Apke
Shaun Dion Hamilton
Greg Stroman
Trey Quinn
Dwayne Haskins
Bryce Love
Wes Martin
Ross Pierschbacher
Jordan Brailford
Etc, etc

Re: What happens with Kyle Smith?

Can't hit on them all though, and he's by all accounts been VERY good. Danny would be an absolute moron to let him walk, but it's all going to revolve around his working relationship with Rivera.

Re: What happens with Kyle Smith?

Dwayne Haskins
Bryce Love
Wes Martin
Ross Pierschbacher
Jordan Brailford
Geron Christian Sr
Troy Apke
Shaun Dion Hamilton
Greg Stroman
Smith-Williams
Khaleke Hudson
Ryan Anderson
Keith Ismael
AGG
S. Charles

They are all still on the roster or IR, the jury is still out on some of them, some have improved and some have shown flashes. What do you want 1000%? Show me a GM who has done better in 3-4 years what Smith has done.

Guice and Haskins came with a warning and he took a chance or was overruled (Haskins by Snider)
Brailford they liked, it was a numbers game and now plays for the Vikings.
Quinn is with Jacksonville with 35 catches and 2 TD's.

Both Sims, Smith-Williams, Strohman, Martin, Christian, Hudson and even Haskins have shown flashes, but not in a consistent basis. Not everyone is McLaurin.

I would say the only bust of this group is Apke.

Re: What happens with Kyle Smith?

They would be fucking stupid to let Smith walk, what do Houston, Detroit and Jacksonville have in common? Shitty retread GM's that somehow resurface, if you don't know what they have in Smith, then others do and will pounce on him.

Article tease:

Smith is the main force behind most of the young talent that has the league talking and one of the main reasons why head coach Ron Rivera took the job.

Rivera has said in previous interviews that Smith’s promotion is something that he and owner Daniel Snyder would need to discuss but has liked the work that he has done leading up to this year.

The only catch on moving slowly on this situation is another team could swoop in and steal Kyle away. His contract is believed to expire in June of 2021.

Re: What happens with Kyle Smith?

If Kyle was responsible for the draft picks of the last 3 years, then of course they need to figure out a way to retain him. However, I wasn't in the building so I don't know who was most responsible... What about Doug Williams, Jay Gruden, Bruce Allen, and Dan Snyder? I could never figure out who was calling the shots, and it was always portrayed as a collective effort.

If you read John Keim, he has mentioned many times Kyle as the main person for picking the players.

Not a Keim article but read who the architect for the last 3 drafts has been.

Re: What happens with Kyle Smith?

We are getting better as an organization, I'm gonna go full positive here, and assume he stays.

Also, everything I read, says him and Rivera had a good working relationship.

Let's officially grow-up and make KS the GM.

Really hope they make him GM soon. He has a keen eye for talent for sure. Happy with his work here and feel he would make a great GM.

Football people were overruled by Snyder on the Haskins pick, they didn't have a 1st round pick on him.

Your point is still valid though, and he still did a really good job.
