The Unsolved Mysteries Thread

So I thought about making this like a true crime thread, but then I thought that that subject matter might get pushed into thread hell and nobody would ever read it. (Read as: Debating with the enemy threads)

So true crime can go under here, but keep away from the ones that already have hot button verdicts, i.e. OJ, Zimmerman, Casey Anthony, etc. And stick to true crime that hasn't been solved.

You can also throw other marvels that aren't crime related if you'd like.

I was just thinking about the JonBenet Ramsey case, as there's a book due out probably early next year, which I'm definitely going to grab. JonBenet Ramsey book, 4 years in works, nears publication - Boulder Daily Camera

That case still has me stumped and I listened to a whole lecture about the case. I was hoping when Patsy Ramsey died, she would have given some deathbed confession, but it's looking like if the parents know who did it, its going to the grave with them.

Re: The Unsolved Mysteries Thread

Here is another case that is more weird than mysterious.

I'm convinced the Ramseys are involved and if they were living below the poverty line they would be in prison for the rest of their lives.

Re: The Unsolved Mysteries Thread

I think no doubt they're involved. Although there was no solid evidence, several handwriting analysts determined more than likely Patsy wrote the ransom note. I also thought I heard or read that John moved the body.

But the Boulder PD are also f'ing idiots for letting practically anyone and everyone walk through the crime scene instead of sealing it off.

I've always thought the brother was somehow involved/did it and that the parents helped cover it up.

Amelia Earhart. So many things could have gone wrong, we just don't know what.

I had an ex who was convinced that Amelia Earhart survived the crash and lived out the rest of her life elsewhere. They said New Jersey.

I've read that more than likely, she died in the crash but the other theory isn't rosy; the native coconut crabs on the island nearby where she crashed ate her.

Re: The Unsolved Mysteries Thread

The Elisa Lam story is somewhat creepy to watch. The whole video of what happened prior to her death was caught. Something strange going on.

Elisa Lam Video - YouTube

She was later found dead and naked in the water supply for the hotel. There were no drugs in her system. She was not wearing her glasses and has terrible eyesite which is one of the explanations for the hand waving, hitting all the buttons, etc.

I think she was on LSD, which from my understanding cannot be tested for unless hair sample is done which is rare . I'm sure her body being diluted in water made it harder to test for for drugs. Very interesting given the hotel's strange history.

Not really. He killed a girl and got off. The exact details while unknown are mostly irrelevant. Any average citizen would have gone to jail plain and simple based on his story alone. And his story is basically crap. Mostly unbelievable in about a dozen different ways.

My other favorite case

D. B. Cooper - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I like to think he lived. Hell, they keep finding pieces of his money every so often.
