Greetings from Minnesota

Been here for several days and the BUZZ here is about a huge trade that the Vikes are supposedly trying to make.

Culpapper + Smoot to Arizona Cardinals for Cards #1 pick this year + a safety on the Cards Squad + a conditional 4th round pick next year.

As people on The Warpath contemplate trades where the Skins send a second string player somewhere else for a Pro Bowl starter plus a first round pick [that trade will never happen], ponder this potential swap.

Here is a guy who made the pro bowl as a QB who was THE face of the franchise until he stunk for half of last year and then blew out his knee AND a key free agent signing just a year ago and they are both supposedly available for a first round pick this year and a safety whose name rings no bells with me and a conditional pick next year. And get this, the Minny sports radio stations are saying that the Cards don't want to part with that conditional pick next year and that is what might kill this deal!!

Translation: If a team has damaged goods it wants to move, other teams in the league know they are damaged and won't offer much in return.

Re: Greetings from Minnesota

I read that in a twincities.com (Pioneer Press) report but the day before the same paper was suggesting rumors of Culpepper going to Oakland or Baltimore. I think they're just throwing possibilities up there.

But wouldn't it be something if Daunte and Randy were reunited in Oaktown

I read somewhere we were trading Arrington along with Ramsey for Jack Tumberland and Fano McFarlis.

Re: Greetings from Minnesota

that safety might be adrian wilson. Just because Culpepper stunk it up before his knee injury last year, doesn't mean he can't rejoin that elite status he had in 2004. That's probably just a rumor though.

Seahawks won't be in the playoffs next season. They'll be bumped by the Cards or Niners. And they won't win their first superbowl appearance game either. ROLL STEELERS ROLL!!!

We lose him in FA then trade back for him? Don't see that happening. Besides, we do need a CB but we have more pressing needs that draft picks can be kept for and I can't think of a player the Vikes would want for him. There's also a question of his fitness after being out this year.

Re: Greetings from Minnesota

cardinals need a running back more than anything, not a wounded qb and smoot who has certainly fallen off some this year

Re: Greetings from Minnesota

Most people have them taking DeAngelo from Memphis. I think HE more than anyone would greatly improve their offense.

agreed. they had to have had the worst rushing attack in the league, and yes they passed it tons, but mostly because they couldnt run
