Orakpo 2009 Defensive rookie of the year and pro bowler

I know I was pissed that we didn't draft Mack as our 1st rounder. But man, this kid Orakpo is a beast and no doubt will be defensive rookie of the year and a pro bowler. I think Carter, Haynesworth and Fletcher will also be in the pro bowl squad.

Fletcher should definitely be in the Pro Bowl. Orakpo will be a Pro Bowler, maybe not this season though...but he is definitely a beast. Carter...well..he's played very well this season, just not so sure he's a Pro Bowler.

No doubt he is the DROY mainly he is a LB in a 4-3 system and has 11 sacks. I can't think of a 4-3 LB in the league close to 11 imagine him at DE full-time!!!

Definitely going to come down to either Orakpo, Matthews, or Cushing... probably depends on how the next few games turn out.

4 defensive pro bowlers to a 4-9 team? I doubt it

Rak and Carter both deserve Pro Bowl consideration, not sure either will get it though.

You can only hope that Fletcher gets in, god knows he is long overdue.

Carter is not making the pro-bowl and neither is Haynesworth. Orakpo isnt making defensive rookie of the year, although I think he could make the pro-bowl. I think Fletcher has a good shot of making the pro-bowl this year, although I personally don't think he deserves it. He's not one of the top 2 ILBs in the NFC, although i think he may make it on the merit of his career as opposed to his performance in 2009.

Re: Orakpo 2009 Defensive rookie of the and pro bowler

Carter and Orakpo are tied for 2nd in the NFC 1 1/2 sacks behind Jared "white trash" Allen. Dummervil has 15, Allen 12.5, Freeney 11.5 and then Carter and Orakpo. I see them both in the pro bowl and Orakpo is a rookie, what other rookie is having Orakpo's year on defense?

Rak would be voted in as a OLB though, so I don't see him making it at that position.

Don't think there's a rookie that's close w/ his sack total. He may get in though as a rookie. Not sure about Carter, i doubt it. It doesn't help that we have 4 wins. A team w/ 4 wins doesn't generally send more than a couple.

Jairus Byrd will get serious consideration for defensive rookie of the year. He has 9 interceptions and leads the league.

Clay Matthews is having a very strong year for the Packers. And the Packers are on their way to the playoffs. He has to be in the conversation for DROY

Re: Orakpo 2009 Defensive rookie of the and pro bowler

I rarely pay attention to the ProBowl. How often do rookies make it in?

I think it might be hard for him to get a bid, but Carter and Fletch should be done deals. Who knows though, I felt the same way about Fletch last year.

Clay Matthews stats:

G Solo Ast Total Sack
13 29 11 40 8

Brian Orakpo stats:

G Solo Ast Total Sack
13 34 12 46 11

Playoffs or not Orakpo has better stats.
