Caps Get Fedorov

Washington Capitals - News: Capitals Acquire Center Sergei Fedorov from Columbus - 02/26/2008

Interesting move on the Capitals' part. Fedorov clearly isn't the same as he was say 10 years ago, but he's a proven winner. Seems like this move is more about having a champion veteran in the locker room than about what he can do on the ice.

On the other hand, getting goalie Michael Huet from the Canadians should help them down the stretch.

yea, thats a pretty good pick up for the caps but the caps getting that goalie from montreal is an even better move.

not a caps fan, but a good move. doesn't consistently do the things he could in his Detroit years, but still a very skilled player. and like smooty said, knows how to win

yeah I'd say getting Huet was a bigger move but this isn't that bad, he'll bring a vet presence to the locker room and overall it was a pretty good day for the Caps.

On a better note; The Flyers Won. Better yet Briere scored a big goal on his old team. We are looking up, in 3 weeks back comes richards for playoffs. In 2 hatcher comes back, and Llupul is back soon too!!! Bye Bye Caps!!!!!!

That sounds like one of the best notes of all haha. Damn Brooks Laich was huge in tonight's game. It's nice to see your depth step up when your big play guys are in a slump.

Michael, Cristobal, same difference

Federov will sure up the 2nd scoring line with the absence of Michael Nylander out for the year. Down the stretch, don't be surprised to see him teamed up with Ovie and Fleischmann on the main line.

Huet is a huge pickup, and gives the Caps 2 big time options in the net. And at 32, could be the heir apparent for the next few years as Kolzig rides off on the retirement zamboni. It also weakens a Montreal lineup who now depends on a 20 year old sensation to carry them into the playoffs.

The new acquisitions (Matt Cooke came over from Vancouver) should help the Caps make a big push towards the playoffs.

His close friends call him Michael

Seriously though, I realized I made a mistake yesterday and just never got around to editing.
