Hopefully Frank Darabont leaving won't kill it. Oh yeah, I'm in it btw. Okay not really, but they did film relatively close to my place.

re: The Walking Dead thread (spoiler alert, read at your own risk)
i actually just watched the first 4 episodes this past week or so. not bad, im def going to watch the rest of season 1 and try and stick with it for season 2. i must say, switching from directv to comcast has been awesome. we didnt have on demand or dvr with directv and it was impossible to say current on shows.

I can't wait for the new season! I know it got a little slow towards the end of S1 (except the final episode) but I still really enjoyed it.
To me it's kind of more like what the writers of Lost claimed that show was about once it was all said and done - a character drama about people put in an extraordinary situation. Like Dirtbag said, I just hope they keep the quality up now that Darabont is out.

re: The Walking Dead thread (spoiler alert, read at your own risk)
I have read all of the graphic novels up to date, long before this show was concieved as a TV show. I know the story inside and out, so if anybody has any questions or if some people just want to be spoiled, please send me a private message so i don't ruin it for anyone.
This show was easily my favorite of TV last year, and I have been stoked waiting for season 2 to arrive. This show has all the makings of a saga, and as long as the ratings continue to be so high, i see no reason why there isn't many seasons of it. As i've said before, this is a long storyline, I am sure the writers have already imagined doing 4 or 5 seasons, possibly more, there is just that much to tell. October 16 FTW!!!!

Regarding the ending last night, I didn't see that coming.
And I'm wondering what the Dr. said to Rick before they left the CDC. |

From the title I thought this thread was about Grossman.

If it's like the storyline from the book it's a huge curveball that will rear its head soon and I don't wanna spoil it if it is what I think it is haha.

re: The Walking Dead thread (spoiler alert, read at your own risk)
I have lots of friends who rave about the show. I had the day off today so I watched the 1st episode of season 1 on NetFlix today. Really good.
The first season was only 6 episodes, so I'll be up to speed quickly.

Quote:
They've been doing their own thing with the story as certain characters are suppose to be long gone by now. Heck Daryl Dixon was made for the TV version and has never been in the comic though ironically the author of the comic is thinking of adding him to the current story. Daryl is the hunter with the crossbow in case anyone is drawing a blank. Either way the Walking Dead is the first instance I've seen where a franchise has been able to put together such a compelling story while creating it's own version of the source material.

re: The Walking Dead thread (spoiler alert, read at your own risk)
Lucky bastard. It's an amazing show. Personally though it takes me a while to get through an episode. So many tense moments where you don't know what's going to happen to certain characters that it's hard for me to just plow through. I don't know why but I have trouble sitting through any movie or hour long show
