Clausen holds the ball too damn long, but hes a Freshman. He looked better than Mallet today in the first half, and I think he'll have the better career of the two for sure.

If nothing else, I think this pretty much debunks the "Notre Dame has a soft schedule argument." As a fan, I really hated having to listen to that one.

Anyway, if they can't beat Michigan State next week, this team will start 0-8.

Funny how they dumped Ty Willingham for Weis....not looking so good now, is it?

This is by far the dumbest argument in college sports. Ty willingham lucked his was to 10 wins with a weak schedule and did LITERALLY nothing else! Weis had a simply amazing offense, and ressurected the Irish with a consistantly top 10 toughest schedule. We all knew that Notre Dame would suffer this year because of a gap in the recruiting (left partially due to Willingham)...but wies got the #1 (not #2, or #3... the #1) recruiting class in country. He had to rebuild and everyone was aware of it.
This whole argument is only brought up because Willingham is black, and frankly I am tired of people making assumptions and conclusions because of race. It's sickening.

For the record, I don't care about ND at all. It's just that the grass is greener on the other side syndrome has seemed to bite them ass some.

Secondly, Weis’ success has come with players that Willingham recruited. Darius Walker, Brady Quinn, Jeff Samardzjia, and Tom Zbikowski, the four biggest stars that played under Weis were signed by Willingham.

As far as who had the toughest schedule in their first year, I challenge you to look that up. Ty had a monster schedule in his first and second season. Look it up.

Bottom line, the Irish dumped Willingham for Weis and they're not better off. That much I'm sure you would agree on, right?

Willingham ultimately got screwed by Bob Davie's lackluster recruiting. He would have likely been as successful as Weis had he not been fired.

Notre Dame has no talent right now. Is that Weis' fault? Probably not. More likely Willingham's.

Anyway, unlike Willingham, Weis put toghether two straight BCS season's and has earned a one year pass is my book. If next year isn't significantly better, I would start wondering about his recruiting practices.

Re: No Fight in the Irish

the country obviously needs to open 4 more service academies, since that seems to be the only time ND looks like a real football team.
