You can get with this, or you can get with that...
Was Jason Campbell the best player available when we were on the clock at number 25?

Does it really matter? We already drafted him, so whats done is done guys. Lets just try to move on, and deal with it.
Gibbs had this guy targeted at 25, so he got what he wanted. That's all that matters now. |

Didn't he have a different coordinator every year?
That could have effected his development, but he had a great senior year didn't he? Alot of of people think really highly of him as a prospect, so we'll see what happens. |

I was asking for proof positive. Who was rated higher overall than Campbell? Injury riddled UVA TE Heath Miller?

Re: You can get with this, or you can get with that...
He didn't really play BAD his other years, he was a great prospect coming into Auburn. He is mobile enough, has a strong arm, can make all the throws, and in my opinion could easily be better than Alex "Weurffel Arm" Smith, or Aaron Rogers. I simply feel bad for Ramsey, I don't so much like the pick because we could have gotten more bang for our buck, especially if we went BMW early, then a CB late. Campbell is far from a bad player, I think he's actually a very good player, and may have been the best available, the only problem is we had other positions to fill!

There were probably a number of players rated higher than him. Many thought we should've taken Roddy White the WR out UAB or Heath Miller. Or that we should've drafted Mike Williams, and then another corner like the guy from Michigan, Daseal, I also feel bad for Ramsey. I just feel like Gibbs probably doesn't have that much confidence in him. But then again, what do i know? |

If Gibbs is anything, he's a man of his word.
He's repeatedly said Ramsey is his starter. He stuck with Brunell through thick and thin last year, and I think we'll see him give the same consideration to PR this year. |

Uh, Roddy White was nothing special in college. You're comparing arguably the top prospect QB to the fifth WR drafted?

This is a good article. It's about why Joe Gibbs may have took Campbell. It's and interesting view and it made me feel a little better about the pick. But just a little.

The number of QB's that are picked in the first round that fail is a lot more then the ones that turn out to be good QB's. If you just look at the poistion alone it makes no sense to take him. By the way all most every mock draft had him going in the mid 2nd to late 2nd round. until the Redskins started showing interest in him. It's not if he was arguably the top prospect QB. It's where we could have gotten him? There were reports that Cleveland was interested in him at pick 35. If that was the case trade for the 33 or 34 pick or 32. I'm sure they would have given up a lot less. Then picking Campbell would of been a better spot. But for are sack as Skins fans lets hope Jason Campbell turn out to be the next Tom Brady. cheers |
