I'm not sure he learned anything, the coaches sure didnt
Sometimes he's smart, other times not so much
Go back and watch his very first run against Seattle,he turned upfield and his leg swings around in the air EXACTLY like in ravens game, only difference is he was lucky no one hit it in the air this time(well it turned out not to matter since he messed it up later)
I just hope hes learned to pull himself out next time because the coaches sure aren't smart enough

Kirk Cousins will be the starter for most or all of 2013. If RG3 was a simple drop back pass type of QB, ((maybe)) he could play by seasons end, but even then I highly doubt it.

There is no way Redskins make the same mistake twice... Even with Doc Andrews pep talking us.
Right now it's just too early to tell but I agree. RG3 was suppose to be getting better this offseasonn, working on his craft. Now that time will be spent doing rehab on a knee that's now been cut up twice. This is not going to be an AP type of recovery. I think Cousins starts more than a couple of games.

From the Doc.

"Robert Griffin III had successful knee surgery early this morning. He had a direct repair of his LCL and a re-do of his previous ACL reconstruction. We expect a full recovery and it is everybody's hope and belief that due to Robert's high motivation, he will be ready for the 2013 season.

"The goal of his treatment is to give him the best opportunity for a long professional career."

I think he realizes he can throw the ball. Those sounds like the stats of a pass-first QB to me too. Of course he did run for 33 more TDs, but he can succeed in the NFL even if he can't run at all.

Do you know he even punted 4 times for a 40-yard average with a long of 59 yards?

He caught 3 passes too.

He can do anything and everything.
But what he ran in college was read the first guy, if not open then run. The times when he stood in the pocket were when teams made the effort to contain the pocket over applying a pash rush. Although he could still do read options against them.

Will RG3 ever learn to stand there when the first guy isnt open going through his progressions until he throws the ball away? Or will he always read until the rush gets close and start running?

I would rather RG3 throw it away instead of constantly trying to run when the pocket collapses. That doesnt mean he shouldnt extend a play if an opening is there. But he still needs to realize that he needs to throw the ball away if the receivers are still not open (Or quickly just grab 5 or 10 yards, which he was better at later in the season except one play... but thats all it takes). He knows what his legs are capable of on any given play. In college, thats fine. In the NFL, not so much.

Notice how he doesn't say "The start of the 2013 season" he just says "the 2013 season"

Sorry did I say mini-camp? I meant OTA's. In fact I'm pretty sure he's running wind sprints right now with a parachute strapped to him.

Re: RGIII undergoing total reconstructive surgery: out 6-8 months

Bigger picture is that our franchise QB is now becoming Michael Vick and not Aaron Rodgers. Only one season and a concussion, LCL strain and then ACL tear. The concern in my mind is that he and the coaching staff still refuse to admit his risk of injury with his current style of play.

I fear that this means he'll have 8-10 years of 12-14 game seasons, and hopefully a lucky one or two where he stays healthy long enough for the postseason to take us deep & maybe to the Super Bowl.

He's smart, so maybe he could change his game and finally start throwing passes away & sliding to avoid contact. But I fear his competitive spirit will drag down his career unless Shanahan finds a way to limit his injuries.

Our franchise needs consistency than an isolated great year or two. One good year can get you to the first round of the playoffs, but a consistently good team eventually will win it all several times.

It's funny you should mention Aaron Rodgers. If you recall Rodgers was the least durable QB ever when he started his career. Broke his foot in cleanup duty for Favre in 2006 and missed the rest of the season. The season after that he was inactive for 4 or 5 games due to a hamstring injury, still while being Favres backup. Then in 2010 Jeremy Jarmon gave him a concussion while pulling back on a hit.

He is now the most sacked QB in the game (8 sack first half vs Seattle on MNF anyone?) and yet he's remained reliable.

SI.com - NFL - Aaron*Rodgers Injuries

All I'm saying is RG3 can ironically get more durable as time goes on, as he learns to protect himself while getting more and more used to the hits.

Chris Russell ‏@Russellmania980

Heard back from Dr. Andrews via text on RG III - as he did on Tuesday & now again Wednesday - he says the #Redskins will not let him talk.

Not surprised by this.

Your right and further, reading it carefully, it doesn't say that the doctor himself believes he will be ready for 2013.
