Re: The Case For...

any lineman, on both sides of the ball. but if its a draft pick, it better not be a project. bring in someone you think can play right away. in a related note, i kind of like the idea of Daniels at defensive tackle. to me, its worth a try. and if im correct, he played some in Chicago

Donoven or Suggs. Peppers could be a bust at his age.

Michael Vick...

Wait until he is cut by ATL, then pick him up possibly at Vet Min. He can fill one of 3 possible roles.

1. Backup QB,
2. replacement for Campbell in a year? Maybe
3. An offensive Athlete Reciever/Runner/Passer/Returner (Remember Cordell Stewart?).

And don't tell me "What about ARE?". ARE is about as versatille as a used condom with a hole in it. The only think that its good for is getting thrown away. I mean seriously, what has ARE done since he has been here? If you said gotten worse at everything, then you are correct.

My other oline choices are restricted free agents, but worth it, them being Jahri Evans OG from the saints and donald Penn OT for the Bucs who was the only starting LT who didn't allow a demarcus ware sack they are both 3rd year guys, so proven and young are two huge pluses in my book

We live in the Washington area which is a major place for PETA who will be holding pitch forks and burning tourches in snyders yard ... We wouldn't hear the end of it, plus whose to say vick looks very rusty after not playing for a year... Plus he wouldn't be reinstated for a while after the commish meets with him

PETA is requesting that Vick take a Psych eval before being reinstated. In the event that he passes it and he has met their requirements, then they would have no choice but to STFU and back down.

As far as Vick being rusty, that is what training camp is for. It's not like we would need him to come out and be a QB right away if at all.

I doubt that after all he has done, and is going to do to repent for his wrong doing that the commish is actually going to keep him banned. He is more deserving of a second chance than several other players who have gotten second chances.

I don't know why you would want Vick to begin with. Character issues aside, the guy was never really that great a Quarterback to begin with and now you want to bring him back after a year out of the league. The only time Vick was really "successful" was when Reeves protected him by limiting the amount of times he threw.

However what really did Vick in was the Cover 2 defense. Having those two corners on the aside, fast linebackers, quick DE's, and a QB who wasn't really that accurate went a long way towards exposing him as nothing more then a glorified running back.

Once teams realized that they didn't have to worry so much about him throwing the jig was up, as before teams would psyche themselves out by thinking they had to defend the run and the pass on passing plays.

He's not worth the trouble and media circus that he would bring. And remember I've possibly watched Vick more then anyone else on this forum so for once I know what I'm talking about.

I am more interested in Vick for the pure Athlete factor. I have made my case and not everyone agrees with me which is fine.

Let's not turn this into a Vick thread and get it back on track. Hijack over.

ya man your on the right track, I would add a few more picks, cause of compensatory picks, we'll definetly get one maybe 2 -4 more, because I believe they are given out the teams that are least active in free agency, the year before, and last year we only got jerome mathis and traded for JT so really nothing FA wise...But ya your thinking is a lot like mine

Good thing I saw this before posting. Something along these lines would be ideal.

Jesus I hate these lobbyists. Somehow everyone is too scared to let their balls drop so they continue to allow PETA and MADD and so on to enforce ridiculous shit and blatantly misstate things because they're too afraid of being labeled an animal beater or alcoholic. What else could these organizations do if they were told to shutup and stay out of everyone's business?
