There's just no way we get a deal worth trading him.

I also happen to think we're overblowing the hands thing. He's dropped two real game changing plays in his career: that one in the 2005 divisional round, and the one in the Pittsburgh game this year, but he's got 3 INT in 23 games since 2007, and one of those picks went to the house. All three of them came with considerable return yards.

So yeah, he's definately going to drop some INTs in the future, but for a guy who plays defense for a reason, I think he catches an acceptable amount.
He has 6 career INTs in 4 seasons, sorry but any way you slice that it's pretty piss poor.

Well, then theres the point that we shouldn't judge any corner by INTs because they tend to be a negative indicator.

The best corner in the league, Asomugha, has fewer picks than Rogers in more games since 2007. In fact, he did not intercept a pass his first three years in the league. Sure, his 8 INT season in 2006 is what made him an elite corner in the minds of most offensive guys, but it's not like he's been in decline since that season, though his INT total certainly begs the question.

I guess what I'm saying is that while I share your frustrations with Rogers on those missed opportunities, I think you have to realize that he created the opportunity in the first place by reading the route and breaking on the ball. To say that his INT production has been piss poor would be like saying that London Fletcher's forced fumble ability (1 as a Redskin, 11 in his entire career) is piss poor and that he's thusly expendable. I just don't think that's how a players value to the team should be graded, at least not seriously when deciding his trade value.

I don't care who you have in the backfield, if you can't get pressure on the QB consistantly your corners will get burned. Look at the teams that are in the playoffs every year, the thing they have in common is generating a pass rush with their front four. But I would like to see Carlos stay, you have to go with youth.
