The Post is reporting that the restructured deal would save $1.8 million. Perhaps he took a pay cut in addition to converting some of his salary into a signing bonus. Or maybe, the Post is just dead wrong again.

I don't doubt that Brunell restructured his deal (Redskins.com is reporting it). What I am curious to know is how it was restructured. If he took a paycut, well that would be awesome because a conventional restructuring will not bring us much relief given the 30% rule.

Well, I'm sure he's going to wait until the last minute to see exactly how the restructuring is going to go. One player can't help our situation out, so we can't expect Brunell to play for free. But, I think that with players like Brunell and Portis restructuring, it will send a good message to the other core 'Skins...I just don't see this situation being as bad as what some think. Yeah, it's not going to be pretty, but I don't believe it's going to be THAT bad.

/Side note: Offiss: I have a degree in fitness training and served as a personal trainer, so yes, I know quite a bit about weight training thank you very much.

Now back to our story.

All I want is for the idiots out there to keep doubting us. This is a true team. Everyone ready to sacrifice for one goal.

The last group that thought we were going to lie down was the Cowgirls when they came to our house. Next thing you know the stadium was shaking and all of their bitch fans were driving home at halftime.

We messed on Texas...

THis is a hilarious thread...

Best one in a while. Maybe Danny boy feeds fake leads to the post in order to show them up in public? He is a communications company billionaire.

Oh, and thanks MB. Hopefully we'll get a labor agreement and have cap space to boot. If not, yikes.

Peace.

It seemed pretty obvious to me that the Post was just trying to start something. As of the weekend, any player would be reluctant to restructure becasue they were waiting on the CBA also. To put Brunnel's name on the headline as a sacrificial lamb was unjustified (obviously). They should be ashamed of themselves!

i think WaPo got their info from brunell's agent. then the skins came back with a better offer and they accepted that.

I doubt it - Brunell's reaction was pretty visceral, but he didn't even mention the source. I'm sure they had a real source, but I don't think it was from MB's camp.

whoever the original source of the rebuff rumor had to be in some way involved in the talks (either for the skins or MB) or else why even bother citing him/her?

Samuels signed a new deal last year so his salary isn't an issue.
