Washington Warriors would be my second choice. What Daniel Snyder SHOULD do as a good PR move is refocus on OAF: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washin...ans_Foundation Unfortunately, they messed up with that name too because an oaf is defined as a "a stupid, uncultured, or clumsy person."

Well this might turn up the heat on Snyder a bit, assuming those companies try to force the issue of course. At this stage in the game, absent the west coast tribes that use the names for their high school teams/etc. getting vocal in their support of the squad, I'm already mentally preparing for it to happen sometime in my lifetime. Just hope the new name isn't some dumb shit like the Wizards.

Re: Skins getting heat again over name issue
IF they do change the name I would keep everything the same (colors etc . Even the logo ( unless people find looking at a Indian offensive) I would CHANGE the name to WASHINGTON NATIVE AMERICANS and would keep rolling .. how long before people think that name is rascist? The teams whole identity is Based around the American Indian If you lose that you might as well pull for another team ..

This is now my favorite idea if they change the name. Someone above this said the Braves. That's my favorite baseball team also, I like that idea too.

Investors call Nike, Fedex and Pepsico to cut ties with Redskins
Now I'm starting to think there is a good possibility Snyder will have to change the name.. Snyder probably already started looking at the yachts magazine for a second yacht and he will need the money. |

When the $$ actually comes off the table let's talk. Until then just hollow threats.

Re: Skins getting heat again over name issue
They could call it Washington Shit Show for all I care and I´d still be game.
But I would prefer anything over alliterations - Warriors, Wizards, Wankers, no thank you. |

Re: Skins getting heat again over name issue
I look for Snyder to go all in on keeping the name...like arranging a meeting with several Native American tribe leaders/spokespeople and CEO's of Fed Ex, Pepsi, whoever...to show the OTHER side of the name and why it should be kept

The name "Heroes" comes to my mind. And, Dan, if you use my idea, don't be too specific about who those heroes might be. Let each fan think of his or her own heroes when they see or hear the team name. See, it works for everyone. |
