We had no idea that that would be the case. We had him penciled in as competing for safety and being a special teams player Year 1, but he came in here and really surprised us with his versatility, you know, being able to play nickel, being able to play safety.”

Boom. McC is really ballin.

I've had 1 bad concussion. Maybe 1 or 2 decent head whips. It changed my life. They're no joke. We've all got our bell rung at some point and we're too worried about looking soft so we go back in. I've had sleep issues ever since. I've always considered it just a part of it and I don't regret the little football I played as a kid but those of you who went on to play college ball and a few that played a few years in the pros? I can't imagine how those types of hits add up over time. Once you've had a few serious concussions, you've made a little money, go home and enjoy it before you screw yourself up big time. These aren't broken bones, they don't just heal up like they never happened.

Need to Know: Redskins accountability in action | Rich Tandler's Real Redskins

Good article from Tandler about accountability. It really is nice seeing it in action.

Matthew McConaughey got Washington Redskins 'fired up' - Washington Redskins Blog - ESPN

In the end, you might say the Redskins did “all right, all right, all right,” after listening to McConaughey’s speech.

fan of this guy for his acting and sense of self.

It may not show up in the W/L column this year but we're headed in the right direction. My concern is Dan Snyder and if he's willing to stay patient with the process.

Maybe i'm striving for too fine/esoteric a distinction for an internet message board...but for me the run game was working. It may not have gained huge yards per carry but it was effective and helped us win the game.
Also it wears down a defensive line more than a passing game. It is much harder
for a defender to hold up a blocker, read and react than to rush the QB.

Exactly.. Fortunately the moves he's made should give Snyder the confidence in him to give him the keys and stay clear. I think after all these years of bad football, even Snyder can see that this is a work in progress and he has the right guy running it. At least that's what I hope anyway..

I have probably got a dozen concussions all from weird accidents, but never
suffered one boxing or playing football. Started at 18 months tipping a TV on a stand over, then at 7 hitting head on ceiling bouncing on the bed, bicycle crashes at 13 and 14, etc, etc. I am not sure they altered my life but the more I get the easier I get them and the longer the symptoms last. The last one I got a couple months ago accidentally banging my head standing up under the boom of an engine hoist. That caused memory issues for 6 weeks.
I could probably bump heads with my cat now and get one. The effects definitely are cumulative.
