Anyhow, there are plenty of people who believe that ultimately MS will move full-time up stairs and the new leaders of the team on the field will be Kyle and Raheem-with one as head coach and the other as assistant/associate head coach/coordinator. But I don't expect that to be next year

Re: Grade the Redskins Moves So Far
There would have to be injuries of catastrophic proportions for us to win 4-6 games this season. Even IF that's the case, the hopes of a short leash on Shanny are wasted. He's locked in for 5 yrs, especially with a rookie QB. There may be some movement on assistants (Haslett's deal is up after this year) but the big 3 (MS, BA, KS) will be here for the duration.

It is good to have 2 potential HC on staff....ever remember the old days when most of us were freaking out because Gregg Williams was spurned as successor of Gibbs II....boy was I wrong!

I think there is a lot we don't know and a little that we do. All we know is what we see. How much wiggle room was KS given by his father? I look at the first year and ignore it because I think it was more the coaching staff getting to know what they had. Then they pretty much got rid of half the players. On top of that they really didn't have a running game that first year so I think KS was given more play calls. The second year I think MS took more control and added more of the running game. Basically I think this year will be more telling. With a better running game, better QB play, an upgrade at WR and hopefully with a OL that knows their assignments better we will see better plays and better play calls. |

Re: Grade the Redskins Moves So Far
I like the way Montgomery and Lichtensteiger has played. They are indeed solid contributors to the Redskins offensive line. I haven't witnessed Montgomery allowing the type of penetration that Casey Rabach allowed. Will Montgomery really isn't a bad center/guard. He's just underrated. As for Lichtensteiger, I'm satisfied with the way he's play for the Redskins on the offensive line the past couple of seasons. I expect him to be even better when he comes back from his ACL injury.

Re: Grade the Redskins Moves So Far
I voted B, better than expected. I like the move up to get RGIII or Luck. The organization realized that the quarterback play was mediocre and needed to make a drastic move. They gave up too much because there are too many other teams with similar situations. I like the aggressive move. The grade could have been an A if Fletcher was under contract. I think the salary cap penalty has made the Fletcher deal difficult. I'm skeptical about the wide receiver upgrades. I think there will be a lot of competition in training camp, but I don't see any clear #1 and #2 receivers. The secondary upgrades added depth, nothing more.

Re: Grade the Redskins Moves So Far
When I wrote pretty ordinary, I didn't mean in terms of the magnitude of the move in terms of its "front page headline" ability, but in terms of pretty ordinary as in we didn't get better or even get worse. We kind of just stayed the same

Re: Grade the Redskins Moves So Far
Wow. RG3 gives us a chance at greatness. Our franchise put all there eggs in the RG3 basket. He will either make us a contender or set us back five + years. I would call this the biggest move we have made in Redskins history.

Seems one of the ES insiders breaking some good news on Twitter.

It is arguable that this isn't even the biggest QB trade in Redskins history...ever hear of an inter-divisional trade involving a guy named Sonny? And in terms of just QB's...and "biggest moves" and not"trades...ever hear of Sammy Baugh?...Championships, Hall of Fame? Move from Boston to DC? Don't get me wrong..it is a major dice roll...but unless RGIII ends up a perennial Pro-bowler, or even an occasional one, it is another Redskins mistake. Sure, if he wins multiple Superbowls, I will agree...but until then....he is just another rookie with more Skins Fan's high hopes. I like him too...but he is just a single player that hasn't done anything yet...which is why we now have a reasonable rookie cap. I hope as strongly as you do...I just recommend a more tempered level of expectation.
