I could definitely see Miami as an option. Arizona makes sense because they need a QB (or give the ball to Skelton) and McNabb has a home there but I haven't got the sense that Whisenhunt wants McNabb running his offense. Only reason Minnesota is mentioned is because of Childress. No Chilly, No Donovan in Minnesota.

Mcnabb will get a new contract when

he completes more passes
throws less interceptions
throws more touchdowns

I don't know if this has been posted elsewhere

Sources: Donovan McNabb contract talks to resume - ESPN

Seems like both sides are looking for a 4 year extension? I wouldn't be opposed to it because it would give us a chance to draft and develop a new QB in the next 1-2 years.

I haven't been impressed with DM this year, at times yes but I will never understand letting go of DThomas. DM has no weapons ,give him what he had in Philly with our run game- he will be unstoppable but it seems the Skins are paying the price of letting DT go when we are all anxious to see if Torrain will be effective and is still hurt. W/o a run game, with a failing OL, why would we embarrass our starting QB ????? I hope its motivating and inspiring b/c a lot of what Shannie has said/done this year seems to have the opposite effect.

No way would I want to see them do a 4 year extension with DM. IMO it should be 2.

I agree on ESPN yesterday they were saying it would reflect Tom Brady's extension. I rather cut bait then keep him here 4 more years.

as w/most contracts, the total # of years is for cap accounting, prorating bonus, etc. Doesn't mean he'd be here 4 years.

If he was, I would hope that he could be in a backup role by year 3 or 4.

i think tonight's game goes a long way in deciding DM's future here. I thought it was a good move when we got him but now I am thinking it was not the best move and considering his age I rather seem him walk.

There will be a market for him but a very small one IMO.

He should get a 1 year extension, nothing more. If he cries for big money, then let him walk and find a better deal elsewhere. He isn't fitting in here with this offense. The Shanahans dont like him, but even still he is not working out here like we hoped he would...

Re: Anyone bothered that McNabb STILL has no new contract??

I wouldn't mind the McNabb trade as much if there were a young qb in waiting. Maybe that guy is John Beck & they really think he could be next?

At this point I don't see a much better alternative to McNabb being available in the offseason. To not re-sign & let him walk him would really suck for the new regime. Allen & Shanny have a lot riding on his performance, they gave up some picks & essentially sold the fanbase on the notion that the team could win sooner rather than later and didn't need to rebuild.

The Bidwills's also aren't known for dooling out large contracts for aging players, [or any player for that matter] With Minnesota's stadium situation being the way it is, Childress and the economy, may all serve to prevent Minn. from being an ideal location in the event a deal is not done here.

The market could be shrinking for McNabb depending of course on how he performs in the next eight games. The events of the last few weeks have done nothing to promote his value on the open market.

Do you ever think that McNabb was brought here to camouflage the rebuilding to make it look like it was win now to keep fans hungry?

I won't be surprised if that was the case and if he worked out here even better. In the end the NFL is a business and maybe the McNabb move was just that a business move to hide the fact we have a long way to go.

If DS and company came right out and said this was a rebuilding year the bottom line for 2010 would look a lot different then a win now attitude about 2010.
