I see A LOT more red in that list than green, which has been my point that drafting WRs high is extremely risky business. I would prefer the Skins to invest high draft choices on the lines and on LBs to fit the 3-4. Address WR with a proven commodity via trade or free agency.
I agree WR can be found from 3rd to late rounds.

Did I ever disagree with anything you said? I've been saying from day 1 that this is the deepest WR draft since 96

I wanted to see DT get a chance to play on the offense this season but I guess in the eyes of the coaching staff he was not better than the WR we had in front of him. GL DT your at a cross road in your career so whats it going to be? 2nd rd draft bust or free agent gem. Time will tell.

I am with you. We could get a good WR in the mid rounds if our dumbass scouts or FO would do there job and come off like they were on top of things come draft day. The draft is very deep so we will have plenty to choose from. Thing is the guys we drafted are all going to be PS lifers. Sorry guys, I don't see Banks or Austin as a short or long term answer at WR for us. IF they were, they would not have been put off the active roster so soon. IF DT could be cut so easily after 4 games, that tells you something.

No you didn't. I was just pointing out that we should be wary of drafting wide receivers early in the draft. The ones that do make it usually take 2-3 years to show consistency, and many never reach their potential. The Skins could be a case study for the poor return from drafting WRs in the 1st two rounds: Desmond Howard, Michael Westbrook, Rod Gardner, Taylor Jacobs, and now Thomas and Kelly.

Speaking of the draft, with the likelihood that future rookie contracts will be severely restricted by the next CBA, there could be a big run of draft-eligible underclassmen declaring for the upcoming draft. If that happens, it could be an incredibly deep draft across multiple positions.

I wonder who is going to pick him up...
He will probably end up like Taylor Jacobs and sit on the bench for a few years before giving up.

I still maintain that people here would have been screaming to high heaven had we drafted the 5'10" Jackson with 5'10" Moss and Randle El already here. Hindsight is 20/20

Its not like the Skins have a bunch of picks or really seem to have cared about the draft in the past. Its tough to find later round diamonds when all the picks have been given away like Xmas gifts. Hopefully the current regime will view draft picks as something worth holding on to.

Re: Redskins release Devin Thomas

Exuse me for a moment, I have to go to the bathroom and cry. This is the most messed up news that I have heard all week.

A guy that has proven that he can play on Sunday's is cut because they don't like the way that he practiced. I'm sorry but I will take that over a guy who can practice well but not play. (Taylor Jacobs)

I would have been screaming, both because of his height as well as his prima dona rep. Guilty as charged.

Everytime that he got the ball in his hands he did something with it. Don't forget the game that he had against the Saints. You cannot make plays if they don't give you the ball. I saw plenty of games last season where he was wide open and wasn't thrown to.

He is gone and I cannot change it I guess that the Skins will get someone else. My opinion on him is my opinion and I will not budge on it though.

No doubt. That's why fans are so smart, most of our analysis is hindsight based.
