re: Stop the Madness, T.O. should be a skin (but he's not, he's a Bengal)
Yeah, a rumor that he basically started himself. He said he's open to playing there. That's about all there is to that.

re: Stop the Madness, T.O. should be a skin (but he's not, he's a Bengal)
The only team Owens has publically stated he will NOT play for is the Chiefs. No secret that there is no love loss between he and the KC head coach Todd Haley.
Those bridges were burnt when Haley was the WR coach in Dallas. Thing is Owens is looking for something in the neighborhood of 5 mil per year. And any team that signs him now that will pay that amount would be a team that loses a starter to injury during camp/preseason. Owens will look to be a #1 or #2 WR. He won't sign to be further on the depth chart then that. The 3-4-5 WR will be expected to contribute on Special Teams, and that is something Owens will not agree to do. And Owens said that about joining the Patriots on a BOSTON radio station. What did anyone expect him to say on a Boston radio station? But lets be real for a minute. In order for Owens to play in New England, he would have to unseat either Randy Moss or Wes Welker from their positions. Does anyone realistically see that happening? Methinks not. Owens will get a job when there is a significant injury to a starting WR somewhere in the NFL. Untill then, all the radio appearances, and interviews we have suddenly been seeing is simply Owens agent trying to market him with training camps only a week or two away. Thats all these appearances are, "T.O. informercials". Now his agent will just wait by that 1-800 number and see who calls. |

D.C. Sports Bog - Shanahan reaffirms: Redskins won't pursue Terrell Owens
Hopefully we can put this to rest now |

I'll second closing the thread. If for some reason he signs with the Skins we can start a TO signs thread if not lets put it to bed.

I won't lose any sleep if it remains open but it appears there's not much to speak on at the moment.

SSDD.
#1- Thomas and Kelly don't step it up a bit T.O. will get looked at. #2- T.O. bats his eyelashes at the Pats | ProFootballTalk.com So for those who said T.O. didn't say he'd like to play for the Pats.... eat your words ![]() #3- No T.O. does not play special teams, but he doesn't have to since Thomas does. Kelly should be on the list of playing special teams also. Does Moss play ST's? I don't think so. I could be wrong. #4- I'm betting if T.O.'s price comes down and whatever other demands he's asking plus Thomas and Kelly lay an egg or don't live up to their billing we will see T.O. no matter what Shanahan has said recently or in the past. If you all want to dismiss him now fine. It sure didn't look like the coach's were too happy with whatever WR's we have now and to me T.O. is still a possibility due to that. He may never make the team... fine as long as someone we have now shines but the coach's just didn't seem too impressed. |

I don't recall anyone claiming that TO never said he wants to play for the Pats...and yes Moss plays teams

Outside of a serious injury I think we're set with our WR group.

I heard TO on an interview yesterday on a local sports show. It was obvious he would say he wanted to play for Genghis Khan if it would lead to a paying gig.......

re: Stop the Madness, T.O. should be a skin (but he's not, he's a Bengal)
I think he's getting to the point where he's embarrassed that nobody has picked him up yet. He doesn't seem to understand that his reputation is finally overshadowing his skill set. Fair or not, that's his reality right now. It's going to take an injury in camp or him seriously lowering his asking price, to get him in a uniform.

re: Stop the Madness, T.O. should be a skin (but he's not, he's a Bengal)
I think it still remains fact that T.O. is a Cancer on any team he plays for. True, we didn't hear much from him this past season, but how much do we ever hear coming from the Buffalo camp anyway? A leopard doesn't change his spots. I think we have the potential of having a good wide receiving corp this year, but certainly Kelly and Thomas both have to pick up their game. And anyway, it isn't very often that receivers are all-stars their first year or two in the NFL. I realize it does happen, but certainly this year is make or break for those guys. I think we're good.

Well, so much for the T.O rumor mill. Shanny put that to bed.

I agree, T.O and McNabb is a deadly combination. But Shanahan has repeatedly said he wants an disciplined team. The Redskins have strong leadership, Fletcher, McNabb, Daniels etc. So I think T.O would behave in our environment.
