Sure... There are tons. Lloyd, Randle El, Coles, Patten, Thrash, Jacobs, McCants. I can go on and on. We have had LOTS of Wide Receivers that have been all pros on other teams. Just no one said what they were all pros of...

In fairness, Harris was an established corner before he got here. We cut him while he still had some gas left in the tank but that's not the same as cutting a young before giving him a chance to develop.

As to Clark, even if not a WR, he is one I wish we had found a way to keep.

I hope you were being as sarcastically funny as I was trying to be.

Lloyd- never was. The Bears got more out of him though then us.
ARE- 30mill down the drain. Could have gotten same production for less.
Jacobs- Where's he at now?
McCants- Same...Where's he at now?
Coles- Did better with the Jets. Both times.
Patten- Only shined in N.E.
Thrash- Someone who played far better then he should have.

I would count Coles and Thrash as people who actually did better after leaving Washington. Coles did better prior and after. Thrash looked awsome in Philli but again it was WCO... short passes. I think Gibbs used him incorrectly. Maybe you could argue ARE also. I never saw anything special that he did with the Steelers so I couldn't figure out why we picked him up only to get marginal production for the cost.

Redskins Receivers In Search Of Consistency

One would think with the comments about Galloway, Wade, and R.Williams they would have kept Mitchell as upside.

Quote:
Galloway enjoyed a late-career revival in his mid-30s as he gained over 1,000 yards receiving in three straight seasons from 2005-2007. In 2008, however, his production fell off a cliff as he caught just 13 passes for 138 yards; he had only seven receptions last year. It would be unusual for a receiver who relies on speed to have a second career rebound. Galloway has a shot of sticking as the fifth receiver, but he faces an uphill battle.
Quote:
Bobby Wade was signed the same night as Galloway. Wade is the lesser known of the two, but he probably has a better shot at making the roster. He turned 29 in February, and he has 143 receptions in the past three years, more than any other wide receiver on the roster with the exception of Moss. He has a career punt return average of 8.5 yards, although he doesn’t have a return of over 20 yards since breaking one for 73 yards in 2005. That experience, and his recent accomplishments as a pass catcher give him an edge.
Quote:
Roydell Williams is another returning player from training camp 2009. The Redskins released him with an injury settlement (finger injury) last September. The Titans, who drafted him out of Tulane in the fourth round in 2005, released him at the end of camp in 2008. Williams will be a long shot to make it after having spent the last two years out of football. At age 29, it could be his last chance.

Saints claim P.J. Hill off waivers
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on May 4, 2010 6:01 PM ET
Dropped Monday by Washington, running back P.J. Hill landed in familiar digs.

The Saints claimed Hill off waivers, bringing back the undrafted free agent to a second tour of duty with the team. Hill had 26 rushes for 128 yards for the Saints in the preseason last year.

New Orleans is somewhat thin at running back, so Hill could stick, perhaps on the practice squad.

Quite sarcastic. Thus the all pros of... supposed to be of not good things. Like all pros of mediocrity. Fill in the blank. Use your imagination! And I agree with your thoughts on the above "all pros".

Damnit, now they're going to win the Super Bowl again. Stupid Brunell/Daniels curse. Let someone go and they get picked up by the Saints and end up Super Bowl champs.

Ade jimoh actually played a ton on teams. Also nobody can ever forget that guy because whenever he got the chance to play cb he looked like he was wearing a clown costume. Good teams player though.

Marko Mitchell claimed by Lions
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on May 4, 2010 8:17 PM ET
Redskins fans that still want to cheer on Marko Mitchell can turn their attention to Detroit.

The Lions claimed Mitchell off waivers, according to Rick Maese of the Washington Post.

Mitchell, a seventh-round pick by the Redskin in 2009, couldn't have picked a better team if he wants to stick in the NFL. Detroit remains thin at wide receiver.

Marko Mitchell signs with Detroit Lions
Wide receiver Marko Mitchell wasn't unemployed long. Released Monday by the Redskins, Mitchell signed today with the Detroit Lions.

Mitchell was a fan favorite in Washington who played big in the preseason last year but had only four catches in the regular season. He was one of five Redskins who got the pink slip Monday.

Running back P.J. Hill also found a new employer. He was claimed off waivers and signed today with the New Orleans Saints.

Good for him, Stafford should make him better. We should bump this thread next year to see how this turns out..

Re: Redskins Release 5

For those like me who were wondering where we stood count wise:

Quote:
The moves left the team with 83 players on the roster. Since the six draft picks do not count against the 80-player limit, the Redskins will be able to sign up to three more players. A number of players will be attending this week’s minicamp on a tryout basis so there is room to bring some of them on board.
This from a pretty good CSN article on the release of these players:
