Re: Around the NFL: Week 1

I saw some NFL commentators ala Warren Sharp shitting on Rookie LB Parsons…I smiled naturally…but the transition from college to NFL at this particular time at that position has to be the hardest on defense.

Situational pass rush and thump RB has always been the base traits…side to side athletism is a separator…but it’s the coverage skills now in demand with Pass catch TE a more pronounced weapon and pass catching RB now a staple in strategy.

Parsons will struggle…expect the same struggle from our first round pick LB Davis

The difference being the knock on Parsons is his coverage skills, not that he cannot develop them, but that is considered one of the strengths for Davis. Parsons is a more natural pass rusher so he will likely get more splashy highlight stats like sacks and pressures which will keep him high in the minds of DROY voters.

Yeah he was horrible in pass coverage last night but again it's 1 game.. I think he'll end up being a Lavonte David type player

It really is. Gronk looked great. Brady just has weapons everywhere and Jones/Fournette is a good 1-2 punch. They are going to be tough again. Brady looked sharp as usual. Dude is totally unbelievable.

For sure, especially when that offense has 6 receivers (3 WRs and 3 TEs) that can be #1 receiver for many other teams.

Dak is legit. Anyone who refuses to see it at this point is just a hater. What can you say about Brady? The guy is simply amazing and is showing no signs of slowing down. Wish I had Antonio Brown on my fantasy radar. He looked like the AB from his Pittsburgh days.

Re: Around the NFL: Week 1

Dallas may have a better O line than most, but they showed last night just how to beat a team with a good D line or front 7...balls out quick. Our run defense and secondary better be improved from last year...or it will be a tough season because we will not be able to put up points like either of those offenses.

I remember him putting up ridiculous numbers and making new England a contender a few years ago when literally every starter was injured. I know I'm not saying anything anyone doesn't know....but we are lucky to see the greatest ever playing.

Really was 3 because one of them was an end of half hail mary, but yeah 2 turn over in Tampa's redzone, and one in their while the Bucs were about to score.
That, Dallas Oline, and Brady are the stories of the game IMO.

They had some real questionable coaching choices too. The worst was at the End of first half, going for a 60 yd fg when your kicker had missed an xp, they were lucky Brady didn't put points on the board from that.

Quinn must think Parson's is better at pass coverage than stopping the run, or Quinn is not very smart, because they were saying over and over about how Parson's was mostly in there on obvious passing downs, and that they were rotating Smith/Vander Esch with Parsons/Neal.

Well even the hail Mary int, the fact it wasn't run back for a td was crazy, Dallas' players basically tackled their own guy.
