Re: Lions PG
Good call chico .. i think youre right. I bet most of it is the jet sweep so my brain dismisses that as just a run play and not pre snap motion leading to a pass play.
I want pre snap motion leading to passing plays i suppose. --------------------------- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ quick video on what is the jet sweep. its from the eagles but its a good concise 2 min video We do so much of this, one version or another. I think mcLaurin's big run against the lions was a jet sweep. Do we ever do a PA off this? maybe the blocking being a bit different you dont want the QB to actually hang onto the ball? I want some PA lol

Re: Lions PG
Well, that's the point. To throw the ball down the field you need time, and receivers/TEs that can get separation. At this time Alex doesn't have either - so you'll continue to see check downs with the occasional down the field pass.

Re: Lions PG
So on passes of 20 plus yards downfield
Haskins was 1 of 10 for 39 yards Allen was 3 of 6 for 100 yards Smith is 6 of 12 for 221 yards Deep % Haskins = 6.8% Allen 6.7% Alex Smith = 11.6% Haskins is 4th lowest , Allen 5th. Only Brees, Mullens and Newton are lower. Smith is ranked 19th

Re: Lions PG
Yeah, he still hasn't been himself this year, whether it's injury or simply father time catching up. Maybe it's a little of both.

Re: Lions PG
I think Brees was also dealing with a shoulder injury this year too which is why he didn't know immediately about the broken ribs. Not sure if it's on his throwing arm but def would explain it more. Looks like Brees' retirement year isn't going the way he anticipated.

Re: Lions PG
I just do it during the season and work mostly college games but yeah it's pretty cool. And no problem my man.

Re: Lions PG
Maybe because the D is better overall and he doesn't stand out as much.

EDIT: he only did an actual breakdown after week 1 last year, with that weird voice kid, don't know if he's actually giving individual grades but I'll listen to it to see what he says about Bostic.

Re: Lions PG
Completely random, but I continue my "making amend for being wrong about Settle" posting, 2 plays I thought #97 was really good in last week. The DL really under achieve agains the Lions, and it's good to see that kind of relentless effort. I think Cooley gave him an A- .
