Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread

Trey Quinn - Gruden said he’s a lock for slot- great trng camp

Cam Sims - speed, size and desire - another great trng camp so far

Terry McLaurin - rookie Cinderella story, college teammate of Haskins- really good trng camp

Paul Richardson - the team paid big dollars to get him in FA, probably going to be like many of the past Redskins FA signings

Robert Davis (2nd yr) or Kevin Harmon (rookie) vs. Josh Doctson - I think this real competition will occur in pre-season games. Gruden has talked up Doctson in trng camp morning press meetings. I can’t figure out if he is serious or if he is hoping to trade Doctson for a 6th round draft pick before the season.

BL - I think there will be a real competition for the bottom slots at WR. I think the team wants to get bigger, younger and faster at WR. New blood is pushing Doctson from the bottom. A lot will depend on how these guys do in the pre-season games and if anyone gets hurt.

I honestly don’t think anyone is a lock at WR except Quinn and Richardson.

Not sure what they see or saw in Richardson to give him big money. He's too frail and will always have some kind of injury going on.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread

I just watched the tweet videos from camp today. Good catches by Richardson, Cam Sims and Doctson. A lot will depend on the pre-season games because guys like Doctson always look good in camp but then don't transfer that to the game day.

I think the preseason games will reveal a lot about which receivers we'll keep and play. Quinn is a lock. The rest is up for the grabs. Yes, more than likely, it will also be Doctson and Richardson starting. I'm also concerned about Richardson staying healthy. Either way, there is talent here. Gruden just needs to figure out the best way to use it.

McCoy tops initial depth chart at qb:

Obviously, this is subject to change but thought it was interesting nonetheless.

The whole depth chart stinks of longevity of talent, there is no reason Colt should be 1st except he was on the roster last year. Same for Doctson on the WR depth chart. They have had all offseason and training camp to evaluate players and from all accounts McCaulin should be 1st team over Doctson

This is just for week 1 of Pre season. They had to put one out, it makes sense. Colt has been there for years with Jay now, he won't be the starter come Philly. Barring a insane preseason outing, I expect Case to be QB1 followed by Haskins and Colt.

In normal terms yes, but to show Doctson as number 1 by definition means they did zero effort with it from TC and offseason. There is no way he goes as a number 1, its just lazy

No doubt, from what has been reported Case has been lights out in camp. Haskins has been solid and the same for Colt. I get the feeling Jay knows he needs the vet to start the season.

To be honest, he may be the 1 to start the season. Who else we got? Prich? Sims? The rookies will have to earn their way up the ladder with games this month. Quinn is #3.

Not sure how much time or effort needs to go into an unofficial depth chart before the first preseason game. The "starters" aren't likely to play longer than a series or two before it becomes a scrub fest.

I wanna see Case start and think he will. I like McCoy in the backup role but don't believe his arm is strong enough to start. Love the guy just my opinion. I am adamant about not wanting to see Haskins start for awhile, especially until we get our oline figured out.

I would rather see Simms there and tell doctson if he wants it earn it in preseason
